It does look good alright. BUT! Just to stir the pot. Madill orange paint does not a Madill yarder make. Something about lipstick on a pig comes to mind. (and I've done field service on them) Regards d.d.

We call that giving it a 'five gallon overhaul' in the airline industry.

6280 in ft mac

Seen a 6280 today at Fort McMurray being used as a dragline at a tailings cell at Suncor. Said "Main" on the boom. Main logging out of Terrace? Don't know if they are doing the work or if they rented or sold it. Using a Hitachi excavator for the back spar and a Deere excavator for the tail hold. They have a blade on it with both ends angled forward and are scraping the top with it. Don't know anything more. Sorry don't have a camera and we are not allowed to have one on site. I will update this topic if I hear of anything more. Last week I had seen the top off the boom in the air and thought "Gee that looks like a yarder boom". Didn't think any more until i saw it yesterday. Had to look twice and get the binoculars out. Had a closer look today and was able to see 6280 on the side and Main on the boom.

I beleive Gord V. took that yarder to ft mac last year and rigged it up for dragging tailing ponds.

Has anyone come across any loaders under the name of Insley ( May not be correct spelling). There were a couple at Nanaimo Lakes in the 70s. I think there were also cranes.

MB Shawnigan division had a Insley cable log loader in the early 70s. If I recall it was on rubber. Probably only about the sizer of an SJ4. I've never seen one as a crane

Got the opportunity to go for a day trip up Nootka sound to a camp last year with Tyson Lambert. What an awesome day looking forward to the next one. Anyway here are a couple of pics of a real nice 7280 I'm sure some of you on here will know it.

I am hopeless with remembering names including who's company it was

SPMiller, where'd you get the picture? I see my 7280 sitting there with probably Dan N at the helm, but not enough in the picture to figure out which 7230 that the pictures taken from.

Hey Scott_527, Al Atwood's 7230 S/N is MG166-07-017, or says our records from when we owned it.
