Since the D8L went out of production more than 25 years ago the article's not really that relevant is it ....?
I mean where would you get even a half-way decent D8L today..?

Of course you could buy a new or almost new D8T and have a machine that burns about 50% of the fuel of an L. Now there's a thought.........
