Welcome Born2clearcut to this great site. Very nice picture of #233. Looking forward to see more:).
HDX; Sad to hear about old #236 but we cant save them all. Here are a few pics of #236 as sandtruck i shot summer 2010, when she was parked at Mesachie Lake. So HDX let us know the history of those BCFP trucks:)

Thanks for the welcome Hayesno1 ,yes this a great site
I'll let HDX tell alittle about those trucks. I would like to get more info on some of these pic's . My grandfather never got time to write down the story and dates of some of these pictures he has given me. I would like to write down some info of some of the pictures for the next generation (my son) . the history on some of these machines are goin to lost .

OK The driver is Don Yates. He got 233 s/n 0033081 new April 3 1970 She came with her sister truck 234 s/n 0033980 both trucks went to BCFPs Caycuse Division. They were part of a 6 truck order with Hayes. Unit 233--234 Caycuse unit 235 went to their Pitt lake operation in March and units 236--237-- 238 went to their Renfrew Division in April and May of 1970 All 6 of these trucks were PreLoad units with 12V71N engines and 1263 main trans with 9441 auxs These trucks were state of the art for the day real class- Don Yates is still around -Talked to him from time to time Really a Gentleman. When he got off 233 another really great guy got her name of Roy Shultz (Sarge)- BCFP was fortunate because some of the best Truck Drivers I ever met drove for them I lost track of 233 after the dissassembly of Caycuse. Hayes Forest Services got a number of these trucks and they were cut up for parts. I have what is left of 234 (the cab) although its all gutted it might be used on one of our Hayes restorations one day ! I will look down in Sarita at our Fire Tankers and see how many are of this order of 6 trucks

Jeez My clutch is slippin I guess Forgot to say that old 229 also came with a Thompson Driveline Retarder (long since removed) There is not a lot of these still around. I have only seen a couple but never had the pleasure of using them. Old 229 is down in Sarita with us I will try and get a pic of her to post this week.

Hayesno1 well it took some time but finally got a serial # of 40-109 It was sold to CrownZ new july 1974 went to their Kokish Division Her history is kind of clouded as to where she was working and how she was to get the BCFP paint job but we are working on it Maybe was sent to their Sandspit Operation in the QCIs. She is currently hooked up to a lowbed on north end of island. Funny though because Crown Z had mostly 71,000 rear diffs and this one had the narrow track 91,000 Clarks (90 inch track) so maybe because she was a preload she was spec'd out to pull the lowbed Will keep lookin

That was pic #5 post #33 for anybody that is keeping track--The other 4 pics on that posting (the Kenworths) were all ex Elk River Timber trucks and because they were taken over by BCFP before Crown Z and BCFP merged it would explain all their trucks being painted from yellow to orange/white /green There is pics around of ERTs # 26 with both companies numbers still visable and then still in her Apache Yellow with BCFP unit numbers 6-276 then changed to 40-114 after Crown Z merger

HDX thanks for sharing info´re. 40-109. Here is another picture of her. Sadly it was raining heavily that day so I only took 2 shots of her. What is serial #? Great to hear she is still active. Pics of old Hayes HD truck a few days before sandbox was removed(summer 2007). Present status of truck is unknown.

Hayesno1 The sand truck you captured was the same one as on the first post of this thread unit 3-132 was EX- Elk River Timber dumptruck #132 After she had the sand box removed she was painted up and stuck out on the Highway up at Sayward as a display truck with a phony water tank and bunk/bolster I think there is pictures of her on this Forum (maybe in the Hayes Truck thread)

HDX, thanks for information. Somehow I knew it was the same truck I captured last summer. Here are a few pics of 1960 Hayes HD at display at Sayward Junction. Water tank looks pretty new.
