Have another look at truck in the jungle , check the trailer reach , its the old Hayes trailer with "I" Beam Reach . Check the Drivers side water tank , it looks like it has a cover over Fuel Filler . It looks like a Muffler in Water Tank Ladder . Might be an HDX ?

Yes Al This truck is a mid-60's HDX with V12 Muffler in the ladder on each side of the cab, "I" beam front bumper. It was the other one with only the rear most parts showing that I was wondering if in fact that didn't lead to it being hauled back to the shop on the back of 248 in the picture's you posted. As you said, Damage to steps and other cosmetic's and maybe sustained damage to the steering axle. Steering might have been the cause of her being in there to begin with. We have all seen steering fail no matter how diligent you were. Ball stud breaks etc.

I've had this WCB poster hanging in my basement since the early 80's. It was sent to me from them years ago. I just came across it again
and now I'm sure this is 6-247. It was taken at the Hayes factory on West 2nd Ave. Most of you will remember all kinds of these posters, usually posted in the lunch room. Although WCB would not use any company names, everything was blanked out. I always knew that BCFP never had any preloads in the same configuration as the M&B ones. The giveaway is behind the guy's head, on the door, you can see the start of "British". The hydraulic tank, the catwalk around the water tank and the rear fenders--all pure BCFP.
Looking at the pictures here 6-248 did not have this catwalk or it was removed. What do you think?
