503A Galion brake issues

Recently bought a Galion 503A with hydraulic brakes that do not work. Tried getting the drums off. Made a puller to go across 2 of the studs and screws against the spindle. We soaked the spindle with penetrating oil and heated the drum around the spindle. Applied pressure while hitting the drum with a sledge. All we did was bend the puller.

I am open to suggestions if anybody has some.

Taking off a drum isn't hard, but follow these directions exactly.
Take one of the nuts that work smoothly and weld a heavy plate (1/2" thick at very least) to it that is about an inch or so larger in diameter. Spin the nut back on the spindle until the plate that you welded to it firmly contacts the spindle end. Jack up the OPPOSITE side of the machine and leave the tire on the hub you are hitting on the ground. Hit the plate welded to the nut with a sledge hammer(12lb. or so) squarely as hard as you can and the hub will pop free with only a few hits.
Obviously you will need to buy a new nut, but Fastenal or a similar co. can get you a new one.
I answered some questions about a L series a month ago that you should look up as it is pertinate to the A's also!
Any more questions about 503's ask away!
