Having an issue with a new to me 2011 deere 225D LC with the fuel gauge. When the tank is full it works perfect and it slowly goes down only problem is when gauge shows empty, tank is roughly half full, I end up running it with low fuel light on 5-7 hours before guessing it's time to refill but such a hassle not knowing how much fuel it has. Also verified it's not that low based on how much it takes to fill, even when gauge shows empty. I haven't put many hours on machine roughly 4 tanks but it's done exactly the same thing each time, doesn't vary at all. I'm assuming it must be something wrong with the float in the tank getting stuck?

You could try to stick a coat hanger around the float to move it and verify if that's an issue? Otherwise monitor the resistance at the sending unit and see if it reads different depending on tank level.

Haven't tried that, but I guess it is worth a try. I figured it may be stuck.
