the main booms are 13'1" wide. 10'6" tall...

I wouldn't be at all shocked to see 1 million as a basic rate..

If its gonna be there full dressed and there for 5 weeks ..yeah sure..too often though the job scope changes once she's there and little changes mean set backs and other issue's ..Its kinda why as an operator ..having a big crane on site ..is a good thing ...chaos = cash !!! ...It takes up space ..it gets priority ,everything gets scheduled around it ...Its fantastic to see how a orchestrated site starts to hit a string of dead notes and broken deadline's when a large unit shows up ...

Why set a 1 mill base price ..knowing full well that its likely to make that much and more once its there set up ....Rarely does a job go by the numbers when large cranes are involved on large sites ..(500+ men).. the smaller jobs are just the opposite ..no overtime and its done well early of the dead line ..unless its a logistical issue with the lift ..

Your just about right on target on that there. Bigger the rig the more money I make as an operator . More likely because of logistic's issues.

Hello to all. Your link piqued my interest and all of us here in the great City of Manitowoc are so very proud of our latest "31000 Baby". Been making a photo album of somewhat daily pics of the progress and needless to say, it's quite impressive. Unfortuneately, my new profile here does not allow me to post them.

Good Afternoon Heavylift. So that's how many posts are required. Thanks for the info. I just came back from lunch at home and they currently have just the #90 boom up about ~250'... No vessel or luffing jib as yet. Todays weather is clear skies and no wind. The red trademark color looks beautiful against the blue sky.

Hi Godfather. Are you referring to the animated movie that shows how the 31000 is built on-site? If so, yes, I've seen that also. It's quite impressive. Very nice animation. I enjoyed the comparison between "Baby" (31000) and a Ford F-150. As soon as I gain credits here for posting, why, I'll take a moment to post some recent photos of Baby on the test pad here in Manty. Also, by coincidence, we had to wait for an over-sized semi transporting what appeared to be either an 18000 or a 31000 sheave bank leaving town this morning. Sounds like Baby is going for a trip out of town.

Good Afternoon Big Iron. She certainly is quite a piece of art. I grew up two blocks from the "ShipYards", which is the original piece of land where the "Company" got its roots. They started by building submarines in WWII. We were an amazing City... I remember we had a machine shop on every corner.

I call this photo "Baby is Thirsty". This was yesterday morning. Our weather has not been sunny, but foggy in the morning. Notice the relationship in size between the diesel tanker and "Baby". Good Day Everyone.
