I only wish that equipment was priced as good here in Australia as it is in the States. For example, the following prices came from a local website www.constructionhub.com.au
    D4D $30 - $40k
    D4E $50 - $60k
    D6C $30 - $50k
    D6D $60 - $90k
    D7G $80 - $100k
    D8K $100 - $140k
Even D4 7Us with a blade fitted are going for about $15,000 in good condition. These are $Au prices and at present our dollar is about $0.92US so there is still a big difference in prices. I gusee it gets down to availability and demand.

I suggest you can offer all macines with USD price, it will be more easy to know your price is good for buyers?

I seen a pair from S.A. in MD Sale go in to office and say they were not bidding in US$ and try to renegotiate. Ritchie put back in sale later and it went much lower.

They get beat when they return home

Has anyone ever heard of a problem with CAT D8k's sucking an intake valve? I have a friend who has sucked down two intake valves in 800 hours. This last time he put on brand new CAT heads with all new CAT parts. The mechanic told him that D8k's were good for that? I have an 8K and I haven't had much trouble with it at all. Does anyone know about this?

    D8k

    Hi,

Iron Planet has a listing for an ex-navy D8K with ripper, just over 2000 hrs. It looks in real good shape-be interesting to see what it brings.

I looked at that D8k and it looks pretty clean for what it its. I have seen a few military tractors and that one doesnt look like a military version. First I dont see any green paint. I realize that it has been painted over but in the scratches you should be able to see a little green paint. All those Navy tractors were painted green. I have a friend who bought three of them and all the parts are green. Most of them were close to the ocean and have a lot of corosion on the belly pans. Second the hour meter is not the original. Its been replaced and there is no way to tell the actual hours. That ripper that they are including is probably off of a D8h. Most of the D8ks had a four barrel ripper. I have seen a few with the two barrel rippers but they are few and far in between out here. If it were going through auction in California it would be lucky to bring over 30k
