    komatsu pc300 probs

where i work the guy that runs the trackhoe is having trouble with the fuel system, once or twice a week his fuel filter runs out of fuel, they put on a new pump, did all the fuel system checks, still cant figure it out, ithink im relaying his problem correctly, once he fills the filter back up runs fine for awhile maybe fine for two or three weeks, then it does it again, ever heard of such a thing?

I had a similar problem years ago with a new JCB3C, every time I climbed a steep slope the engine stopped. After many visits by the fitters they eventually discovered a piece of rag in the fuel tank.Must have got in there on the production line

637slayer your not alone, we are having that same problem with a pc400. if you bleed the line it will start & run, till the next time it wants to have a fit. we have put new fuel cap,new fuel line, next will be removing the tank as soon as it can be down for a bit.

Just got our kenworth back from the garage with the same problem. Ended up being a piece of plastic in the tank. When we talked to our machanic he said this was a common problem. They found a lot of those little plastic seals inside the caps of fuel additives.

What dash macine is this? There may be a screen clogged somewhere. If it only does it on an incline/decline, there should be a drain valve on the bottom of your tank, turn it 90 degrees and make sure there's no trash/dirt in the tank. If thats clear, start at the fuel tank and pull off the lines purging them out with compressed air and making sure they're not cracked/torn. It's sucking in air somewhere. Komatsu uses washer seals and they've been known to leak on occasion. Even if they're not damaged replace them, they're fairly cheap anyway.
