    Boom length - JD 35D

Hello all - I am considering purchacing a John Deere 35D for use clearing brush around my ponds and general light construction projects. I have heavy equipment for the big stuff. My question is whether to get one with the Long Arm or the Standard Arm. There is a difference of approximately 18" of reach. The long arm requires the use of counterweights which extend beyond the standard weights making the machine no longer a true zero turn. (which doesn't bother me for my application.) If anyone has any opinions and reasons for one over the other I would l appreciate your input. Also, I am considering the Rockhound 30EX to run as the flail mower if anyone has run that head on a 35D I would greatly appreciate your thoughts, or thoughts on a better flail mower.

I've allways wondered about a mini with counter weights wearing parts faster? Seems with all the different sizes it might just be eaiser to step up?
