New JD 310K 70 HP Backhoe

Greetings, I started this thread to inquire if anyone has read about (or for that matter tested) a new John Deere 310K tractor-loader-backhoe with a 70 HP engine.
The Tier IV final specs at above 75 horsepower makes a 70 HP machine a consideration.
I have been informed the high horsepower demand is from tractor Loader operation and the Backhoe operation requires way less horsepower. Therefore the idea is if the Loader usage doesn't require the bigger horsepower, then the less than 75 hp emission package is hopefully less cost to purchase and or maintain.

Those Case 580K's had around 69 hp and we did a lot of jobs with those machines.

Just a quick question. How good are Deere backhoe loaders compared to other big brands like Cat, Case, or JCB?

Ford then new holland has made an overly strong unit since the days of the 555, so strong they can tear themselves apart... Deere has done well with the super g and later units that I have been on. Just did the competitive comparison of a deere 310 & case 580sn, the nh 90b, kicked tooshie in loader breakout with almost 5k more than both case and deere, and held even in other numbers....

All that being said and the only backhoe i might consider would be a european job where the hoe portion can rotate 360. I have little use for a 90 degree swing...

To stumpjumper, you mentioned a 360 swing and a 90 swing....could you please clarify....I figure the numbers were important as my case backhoe does a 180 swing (plus or minus) which is 90 to the left of center and 90 to the right of center....the excavators (big mid and mini) do the 360 degree thing and I figure there are different machines in different areas/countries so a couple more details would be so appreciated because that 180 thing sometimes is in need of improvement but we get by somehow hopping stockpiles etc.

oops... i ment the 180 degree, although some are a little more than that. the 360 unit would be like a pel multijob, or a maulette... i probably spelled it wrong, but they are like a min ex, with a bucket and tires.

I ran a 2008 310J on a job for three years had 1.5 hrs on it when i got it and around 3800hrs when the job was finished. 4x4 ex - hoe cab a/c. wobble sticks. I can say that to me it had the best loader performance of any backhoe i have run in 21 yrs. Very fast cycle times, precise grade control and will load a tandem well even if it has the real tall sideboards. Backhoe is another story tho, the outriggers and boom down pressure seem weak to me.That is something you learn to get along with later. I have not ran the K series, tho I believe Deere has the best backhoe on the market today.
I own a 2005 New Holland LB75.B, it is a workhorse very powerful hyd. but you give up speed. Just my 2 cents
