    Red face N. Dakota Pipeline

When exactly is that new pipeline coming from N.Dakota to Oklahoma going to start and who's building it? Just seen it on the news the other day and didn't get it all. That should put alot of people to work and help get some oil out of that country. I can just see Cat Pipeline stuff lined up. I would imagine that will be all Union.

Nebraska legislature has approved the re-route, but the US state dept. gives the go ahead. Of course, a new route means new environmental impact review. POTUS won't want to upset the greenies before the election, so it probably won't be approved till after November. So Canada will just sell the oil to China instead. I guess good jobs and energy independence just aren't that important.

Hey Kiteman, this is another pipeline, not the Keystone. This line is going to go West to the Montana border, then South along the Montana, Wyo, and Colo border, and then into Oklahoma. Completely different than the Keystone. I've also heard that the Keystone is going to build the pipeline West to the Pacific and then to China. One of the guys from Canada said that on one of the sites. Their are 2 contractors from Nebraska up in N. Dakota building loadout stations for the rail also.Mc Cardle did alot of the dirt fyi(believe that MC Cardle is done for now). Storbel/Starkoseki from Clarks, Ne formed an LLC and are doing the mechanical and underground on these sites. It will also be interesting on how long it will take to do the enviro study by the DEQ and others!!

Exclamation Keystone Pipeline vs Keystone XL Pipeline

There is a lot of confusion recently regarding TransCanada’s “Keystone” (Phase 1 & 2) and TransCanada’s “Keystone XL” (Phase 3 & 4) pipelines. First off, the most important thing to understand is; though they start from the same oil field in Alberta Canada they have two totally different destinations/refineries in different States, they are two totally different pipelines and have two totally different routes. TransCanada Map; (large file, slow download, but great information) http://www.transcanada.com/docs/Key_...system_map.pdf . When viewing TransCanada’s map it’s important to understand that the already completed Keystone Pipeline & Pump Stations/Mile Markers are labeled in Blue and the propose Keystone XL Pipeline & Pump Stations/Mile Markers are labeled in Red. Secondly; the Keystone Pipeline construction was completed in 2010 and started service in 2010. http://transcanada.com/100.html The Keystone authorization and Presidential Permit was signed by George W Bush and his State Department in 2008 just before he left office, http://www.keystonepipeline.state.go...stone.nsf?Open The line was constructed in 2008 thru 2010. http://pipelineandgasjournal.com/key...tion?page=show Phase 2 (The Cushing Market Link; Steele City, Nebraska/Pump Station 26 to Cushing South, Oklahoma/Pump Station 32 and Delivery Station) was completed in 2011. Phase 3 & 4; The Keystone XL has not yet been built because the Presidential Permit (required to cross the U.S./Canadian Border) for Phase 4 is being blocked by Obama and his State Department; http://democrats.energycommerce.hous...sands-pipeline
Due to Obama and his State Department’s decision TransCanada has now decided to build the proposed “Keystone XL” in sections starting with the southern section (Cushing South, Oklahoma/Pump Station 32/Mile Post 0 of the Southern Section to Nederland Texas/Mile Post 479) ,which DOES NOT require Obama’s nor the State Department’s authorization. There are competing pipeline projects in the works plus the reversal of the Seaway Pipeline, which all come into play so they need to keep moving forward on the Keystone XL before it’s too late. There is also talk that they will build the mid sections (Harding South Dakota/Pump Station 15/Mile Post 285.60 of the mid section to Steele City, Nebraska/Pump Station 26/Mile Post 850.58). TransCanada has stated that they will build the remaining sections into Canada when they can acquire the Presidential and State Department Permits; After OBAMA is voted out of office! This mid section would be constructed under part of the Bakken Marketlink Project. http://transcanada.com/bakken.html These people have outmaneuvered Obama and his State Department and this will then allow the North Dakota Bakken producers to start using a section of Keystone XL to ship oil south. Immediately following TransCanada’s announcement http://www.edmontonsun.com/2012/02/2...peline-reports that they would build this southern section of the Keystone XL and complete the northern section at a later date; Obama flew to Cushing, Oklahoma for his staged press conference to try and trump these people by taking credit. He couldn’t stop it so he desperately needed to make it appear he was onboard. When will people start to learn how bad the Liberal Media is lying to the world to protect this administration? The facts are all out there; you just have to do your own research to find them. There’s a lot more to this story and I will gladly provide the links to the information for those that are interested. We need more jobs, more energy and less politics!

    Randy

Well stated, and many thanks for clearing up some of the misconceptions about the project for us. As you said, too bad the correct info will not be broadcast, just edited soundbites to push someones agenda.

It is hard to understand the reluctance to commit to a stable source of oil from a friendly neighbor while at the same time importing tankerloads of oil from countries that consider us to be their mortal enemy, but like to seperate us from our money all the same. How is it in the interests of the country to do this??

We need to secure the transport of Canadian crude, or it will end up going to China. I am sure some will anyway, but the more we mess around, the more thay will get, and less for us.

Randy, that pipeline Bush signed off on that came through Nebraska, we helped build. Did the pads for the lift stations, in Nebr and hauled most of the gravel. We also had machines leased to them. Won't go into it anymore but the S.D. one I believe will go hopefully. We were in Kansas with them also at Troy on that big pump station. What's really sad is the power companies alrady have alot of the infra-structure in place for the pump stations. Him going to Okla was a laugh for everyone that was half way in the circle on this deal. If he only knew how big of an A#$% he made of himself, he would hide in a corner. Also you can't believe how stupid and ignorant some people here in Nebraska are about this thing. Man I could go on for a long time about the Sierria Club and Co but not now.

The southern part of the pipeline from Oklahoma to Mexico is approved that part is a done deal, so the southern section is gonna go.

Why don't they just build a refinery in North Dakato where the oil is,and forget the pipeline???? Too simple!

Then we could use it here in the middle of the country and not send it too Texas, and shipped oversea. They can also refine Canada oil there also.

They need a new refinery anyway since most are old and outdated !

Because building a refinery up there would make too much sense. Besides, if the bunny huggers and bass kissers stalled a pipe line, imagine what they would do to a refinery!

There hasn't been a new refinery built since the late 70's. You think getting a pipeline in is difficult, i know of at least 3 refinery projects that have been killed off in my little corner of the world. One the company backed out on after the former governor refused permits for 2 new coal plants. Besides, then you need a pipeline for each refined product.

It is unblieveable that in a great country like the USA, we have a political party that treats a jobs creating, money producing, natural resource like it is some evil disease that should be avoided at all costs! But we will fund the Brazilians billions of our tax money and Barry says the USA will be their best customer. I do not think it is any coincedence that one of Barry's largest contributors,Warren Buffett, who bought BNSF railway, looks to profit nicely if Barry stop the pipelines.

Heres some info about a new refinery in South Dakota, been hearing about it for 4 or 5 years, wonder if it will ever be reality? http://rapidcityjournal.com/news/sou...cc4c03286.html
