C D I have worn out a few pairs of White's boots but it takes some doing. The last pair I had built for me for some reason have never been comfortable. I still think they are the best boot I have ever had, and have worn them all winter long with no leaks. Had lots of Snow Seal on them, and wool socks on my feet. Have worn out a couple boot driers, the only trouble with having boots that are warm is my feet sweat right away then when I sit a long time they get cold. If you lay your boots on their side the air can circulate into them and dry them better than standing them up. I have to pull the arch supports and botttom liners out every night to get them dry with no boot drier, as just a little moisture can make for damp cold feet.

Well CD, went and double checked. They do make a pac in steel toe. This cold wet stuff keeps up, there may be an order placed by the end of this week. http://www.whitesboots.com/index.php...ategory_id=484

Around here I'm the queen. Some say I'm cheap and easy, oh, but they still bow to me. Be careful, I'll break up your home and I'll steal away your soul. It's dangerous to lust for me. Hello, my name is coal.

I wear Nick's Boot's. Handmade just like White's, about a mile from White's shop in Spokane. I have both, White's and Nick's, and I think the Nick's are a better boot. The pair I'm wearing now are 3 years old and I wear them dang near everyday. I have a pair of White's pacs I wear snowmobiling. AWESOME! I have a pair of Danner's with 200 grams of Thinsulate that I wear in the winter for work. Wear a good pair of woolish socks and the heat change won't affect you too much.

I wear Whites with a 14" upper that also work great for dirt bike riding.Have tried Danner & Wesco but neither lasted.Best boot I ever had were Grizzlies, hand made in Montana but they went broke.Always liked Whites but I think they have sold out to the Yuppy/nature crowd and have left the working man behind. My next boots will probably be Nick's.

I got a pair of viberg boots. Hand made in BC, Canada and I love'em. Steel toe with a rubber bump toe and a steel shank in the arch. If you have never had a boot with a steel shank they are great when digging with a shovel. There a little pricy but I'm on year number 3 and there still going strong but I would go through a pair of rockies or wolvarins in 6 to 8 months.
