Ads at the top of the page

All of a sudden there are about half a dozen ads at the top of every page I open up, between where it shows you what forum you're in and the messages. This was never there before unless I wasn't signed in and it's very annoying. How can I get rid of them?

Yea, I'm working on it. The ads are only supposed to show up if you're not logged in, but sometime in November something happened and they weren't showup at all, and I've been working on getting them just right. We'll get it fixed up soon enough. Until then I hope everyone can bear with us. The ads are a necessary evil, they do pay the bills. Thanks

I had a feeling they were paid advertisements, and that they previously only showed up when not logged in. But whether you get it sorted out or not Peter, no worries, if it pays the bills to keep HEF online, I'm able to overlook them. I recall the HEF meltdown, not good when HEF not around.

No worries Peter, I just noticed it and found it annoying, but I'd much rather have the ads than no HEF! I had major withdrawl symptoms when the site went down...

Hey , If a few ads are needed to keep the doors open here No problem for me .I have a little insight to the costs and problems in keeping a website up and running .

We have all been to sites that have been fully monetized and have seen just a huge mess .To be honest The site owner ought to be turning a profit . It would keep their interest in maintaining the site focused .
