Awesome looking work there Tom. What are you running for a welder? Would it be ok to do that sort of work on a bucket with a small wire feed rig with .035 flux core and make a bunch of passes or should I use an arc welder?
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.
Thanks for the compliment nedly, I am running Miller BIG 40 Diesel with a 12VS extreme, a S-22P12, and a Lincoln LN-25. On the bucket work I use Lincoln ultracore 1/16" dual shielded wire.
Yep, I've put an HC138 together a couple of times TOM V.
We have a big 600 amp Miller in the shop that is set up for dual shielded wire as well, really throws out the weld when you have it cranked up.![]()

Tom V, cool stuff man! On that mini-ex,did you use that "weldox" that I saw in the background? If so, whats the difference in weldox and hardox? Again, awesome pics and a wicked cool truck!
Thanks curb guy, I used weldox 130 on the mini boom repair. The weldox is a hi tensile steel and the weldox is a wear steel.
