Anybody have any experence workork on Condor telescoping manlifts? Thanks
I've had the pleasure of working on 3 different Condors over the years. Two of them were late 70's vintage, a 50 and a 60. The other one was a model 60N from the mid 80's somewhere. All of them are long gone from our fleet and I wasn't sorry to see them go.
What's up?![]()
I have 2 condors. ! has a V4 wisconson that has been rebuilt that has the John Deer pump on it and the other 68 has a ford industrial engine. I think the biggest is people thought they were mechanics and pulled this wire off and jumped that relay till both ended up basket cases. The last 68 I got with the Ford engine in it was sold with the computer advertised as fried, but I dont think it has a computer! i think the machines are way to good to scrap and i really have a use for 1 triming some trees on the place and painting my barn. And by the way 1 is 2wd and 1 is 4wd and i do have the books. Any thoughts or ideas appreacited! Thanks
V4 Wisconson with a john deere pump......yup. Same as the two older ones we had. Berta controls & valves, pretty straight forward. We had a lot of trouble with the booms on them. The extend/retract used a cable rather than chains. The boom hoses and electrical cable were also inside the boom running over a series of pulleys. That's where the trouble started. We ended up welding a cable tray to outside of the boom and running the hoses/cable externally. Then no more problems.
Will yours operate at all? What about from the ground? Pictures maybe?![]()
Yes , I talked to a man that got it running and he said that by jumping wires that all functions worked and the wisconsion drive 1 I have played with the hyd flow control valve and either have hyd that are slow or it will kill the engine if you screw the valves out. I talked to a Co. in Pa that used to work on them and the wiring harness up the boom was $5500. Its kinda going to be a challenge to see if I can figure them out as I hate to see them go to scrap. Thanks again for ant info
You might try these folks for parts and info divedigger.

Thanks, I notice you are i "K" town which is 105 miles northeast of me. My question is could you be possably interested working on 1 of these if there is no time frame push? Thanks
Yep, I know where Gray TN is, been there. Worked on trucks for Comcast, and on trucks for JC Utility on State of Franklin Rd. Knox TN rental near Gray as well.
Interested? Well, I have to say I have worked very very little on Condor lifts, don't know much about the way they do things, their wiring methods and such, don't have any info to work with, but maybe it's out there and available. I will add that if some jack leg has really done a hack job on the wiring, no matter who works on it, it can be very time consuming to repair, and most shops charge between 70 and 90 bucks an hr for labor, costs can add up in a hurry repairing that stuff. If you have no alternative, I'd be glad to do what I can to fix you up, but I must say I feel uneasy on those type of jobs and the time required, just being straight up and honest.![]()

Well, I appreacite you being stright up and forward. My best bst is get them inside and start at square 1 and then talk to folks here for advice and approach the problems that way. We had a rental Co go out and that is where I got the 1 with ford. I also got a allmand light tower with a 4kw genset and a air cooled diesel and a 3inch water pump with a 1 cyl wisconison and my favorite I hope is a 4 inch trash pump with a 1 cyl Lombordina diesel and they all turn past 360 so should not be a rod thrown. Most everybody was buying just to scrap. All the sissor lifts will be at the White Pine sale in Nov. It is just hard to seesome of this non computerized eq get junked and I am a slow learner. I also have any and all manuels for all the eq they ever had. Thanks again
We have had 5 of these Condor lifts. 4- 46Q models and a 68Q. I say this with the kindest words possible, "cut your losses and move on". These lifts are nothing but trouble. That is the best advise i can give you!
If you insist on going ahead and fixing this machine i have a few contacts. Bear in mind that parts for these are near extinct and very expensive!
This guy is the Condor "King" Wyse Equipment in Archbold Ohio 419-446-2650 ask for Jeff
Alexander equipment in Bourbonnias IL has some parts for these, ask for Tom in service 815-933-2122
If you need controller or boom harness parts call C-tech in Cincinnati Ohio 513-860-9311.
Off is right the hoses and cables run over the pulleys and they wear out sometimes very fast, so you will be jumping wires and changing over the spares in no time at all. They are a really bad design. The Wisconsin motors are always fouling out plugs and needing the timing adjusted. We could never keep one running right for more than a week at a time.
With lifts being so cheap right now i am sure you could find a nice lift that works for much much cheaper than you will be in fixing these lifts.![]()
