    ATCOEQUIP 300 hyster

    well it ran 2 days and died, i drained the tank , vacuumed out and flushed and changed filters ,ran at idle but would lope like a skip... and when you give it throttle it dies after 3 mins....i sat on this thinking while working on volvo 120d that lockes up park brake when cold almost throwing driver thou windsheild ,,,yeah 5 am its cold its hang on see how this volvo acts ,, well mc clowe logan had to come out and check this out ... anywayback to the hyster i been thinking its a line got to be sucking air cause i dont see this much trash in filters.. so i added a electric fuel pump at tank and turn it on and yep fuel was flying after the mechanical primer pump to the filters at a banjo fitting but where its flared at ... i tried to tighten it but got worst.. loosen it and it would stop ....called around and cant find this steel line , so for shi-s and giggles i brazed it ... it dont leak and runnssssssssssssss like a champ... but i need or would like to replace this line .. i hate to patch things

    LoL, the title of your thread gives the incorrect impression that you purchased the machine from us!

    Sounds like you've had some interesting problems. A Volvo that keeps an operator at the edge of his nerves for fear of sudden rapid deceleration (operator testing law of inertia), and the Hyster that wants to run but just can't.

    I like your idea of installing an electric pump at tank and finding the air leak, pretty clever. You said you brazed the line, it now doesn't leak, but you would like to replace it because you don't like "patching things". Hmmm, sounds to me like you've "repaired" the line, not patched it. If you did a good braze job, it doesn't leak, sounds good to me. Call it repaired, pat yourself on the back, and let it roll.
    A good mechanic isn't expensive, he's priceless!

    That's pretty cool OCR. I would like to know more about the history of Hyster. In my experience, they build darn good forklifts. Just as good as other brand warehouse lift brands (Yale, Clark, Cat/Mitsubishi), as well as heavy lift brands like Pace Arrow. They are darn good machines. And, if it's in good shape, they are well worth the money to keep them in good operating condition.
