    Ramps or not?

I always used wood on my ramps for steel tracked machines. I also agree with the others that wrote drive up, follow what Scrub Puller wrote

How do I best proficiently use tractor to best lower grade and move dirt?

If you know someone or have a little extra $$ that has a middlebuster (TSC has them) you can really tear up some ground quick. I bought one years ago and it has come in handy more then once, especially for the price. You could set it for the depth you want make a few passes then use your back...

Tie downs who needs stinkin tie downs

Wasn't it originally high sulfur was consider off road, and the reason for off or on road diesel was to slowly start the conversion to ULSD?

I would have to disagree with your point, seen many farmers using off road on the highway, and no not for farm chores. exactly my feelings. I don't understand why some get so bent out of shape when they hear about another using off road fuel. Maybe they like paying taxes for nothing in return?

You are correct it is about the tax. I Just don't really care if billybob is running off road in his truck. I know that probably is not the proper guberment way to look at it but I'm sick of all these lame D*&^ taxes being given to politicians just so they can line their pockets!

    Land Clearing

As soon as I saw land clearing in the title I figured it would be about TX. Black locust is a big money maker, waaaayyyy better then any treated lumber on the market, last more then twice as long if not longer. The ole saying is, treated lumber 15yrs, cedar 30yrs, black locust 75yrs. Ole timers...

Completely agree, I have had many police officers as friends over the years and everyone of them said, "I can stop anyone at anytime and find a law somewhere that they are breaking!" Their point being is that, there are so many BS laws out there that no matter what, if one wants to they could...

"Disposal fee" wonder where it gets disposed to? Burning off road fuel....... there must be a place for these hardened criminals, maybe we should reopen Alcatraz(as a prison) :D Now lets get out there and make it mandatory for all on road gassers(motorcycles, cars, trucks, vans, etc..) to...

Tie downs who needs stinkin tie downs

IMO, this is just another one of those revenue making laws, off road VS road fuel. If it was really about being "environmentally friendly" then off road would no longer exist. It's funny how a farm tractor working a field(right next to an interstate) can run off road fuel all day, but the dump...

Absolutely correct, these folks that have the mentality of a minute saved will get the job done better are FOOLS. There is only 1 way to haul a load, and that would be the safest way possible. I'll 2nd that

    looking for a mini x

Melli; I bought a 3 wheeler years back, looked good and seemed to run fair, figured it would need some repair but nothing major. Price was cheap,......:O fixes weren't, someone had taken it apart and attempted a rebuild using cheerios boxes for gaskets. Sometimes it's hard to see what's been...

    backhoe bucket lifting eye position

I bought 2 3/8chain hooks and put one on each side (welded). I use my bucket for logging so the double hook is best for moving logs and keeping them stable. The hooks are on the back side of the buckets low enough for easy hooking, high enough to be out of the way for digging. Having the hooks...

    looking for a mini x

Melli; makes a good point, when I buy anything used I try to see how the owner acts. I've walked away from deals just because of how an owner acts towards machinery. Hatchet Man, that's a good one, well unless your in the market for a hatchet I guess :D

owned one a couple years back, wish I didn't have to let it go, great machine. Some parts will swap with other brands you'll just have to research them. As Lantraxco suggested check with those folks they are very helpful.

    looking for a mini x

I found a 27ZTS JD with less then 1500hrs for under 14k(2yrs ago) it also came with a new engine rebuild with under 200hrs. has been a good machine so far. My complaint is not with this particular machine but with JD as a whole. Even though I have a decent machine it is under powered compared to...
