    Overload of the Day

More of an oversight than an overload. The Peak Downs Highway straddles a haul road at the Caval Ridge coal mine near Moranbah Qld.

Looks good.. make sure to give it some serious dental work to stop it sliding up the tree.

This is one of the most unique setups I have seen. It was posted here some years ago by a bloke from WA and could be raised and lowered with the ram on the rear. Might be the go for your 6way blade, Pony.:)

    My D6D

My favourite, the original and probably still the best. The load goes directly onto the trunnions where it belongs and doesn’t interfere too much with what happens in front of the blade.

This one is certainly light, and easy to lift on and off. Possibly not ideal to be pushing from the very top of the blade but works OK for occasional use. Sometimes it does flip backwards over centre if you flop the tractor over something too fast in reverse….which is a pita because it’s too...

    My D6D

We’ve ended up with three different styles of pushers, each with good and bad points. This one was made by the same outfit that made your rake. Not something that I would design myself but it is well made and meant that we could put the tractor to work straight away. Works great as a pusher but...

    New Caterpillar 265 Skids

I believe the first 255 in Australia was unveiled at field days in Sydney a week or so ago. We, my sons at least, have ordered one which is supposed to be late June delivery. Was scheduled to leave the Sanford NC plant last Tuesday, so we'll see how they go.

What style of pusher do you have planned?

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

If it has tyres, tracks or t*ts, you’re gonna have trouble…. regardless of age.

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

At first glance the hoses do look a bit on the light side. But, as I said, the rippers perform fine…wouldn’t want them any faster.

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

Just not sure what flow ours is producing but they work fine through 1/2 inch hose into twin cylinders.

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

No, we bought the tractor after the rippers had been installed a couple of years. You could easily do it yourself after nutting out the fittings that are required. Any hydraulic shop should be able to help you out…try BJ’s in Dalby if you get stuck. Gessner may not sell the plumbing but would...

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

Our 6R has aftermarket Gessner rippers with a diverter valve on the tilt cyl. circuit. I’ve never studied it properly but looks simple with only a minimal amount of plumbing on top of the transmission housing. Works OK, only minor issue is when looking back at the rippers and operating the tilt...

    Topcon laser on bobcat grader

I guess the main reason we are looking at the GB is that we are coming from a grader background. It does have those little wings that swing forward to help carry material something like a box blade.

    Topcon laser on bobcat grader

Just shed pads, around feedlots, cattle yards, house hold driveways etc. Basically, areas that are too tight for a full size grader. No need for 3D at this stage. They have blades in stock now but the loaders are two months away….at least.

    Topcon laser on bobcat grader

We’re pricing one at the moment, along with the new 255 CTL. We have Topcon 2D on our graders, so hoping we can use those receivers on the new blade.

    Topcon laser on bobcat grader

Is this the GB124 that you mentioned in your thread CM? If so, how are you finding it?

1997 Ford LT9000 tandem dump truck

Sadly, it looks like that is likely an Aussie truck as the door is on the LHS, away from oncoming traffic. Can only be put down to operator error as there is no way the door can come open if it is closed properly. In the case of our water truck, we have the door securely bolted to the body but...

Do you have your machine yet jaclo? I’ld be keen to hear your first impression.

    Flaming Air Line

I s’pose I can only be grateful that the hose did act like a fuse or the same thing could have happened to us. As far as I could tell, the cable routing is as it left the factory… no alterations and all clamps still in place.
