    Ford CL 35

What do I look for, hydraulic whinning while turning and just about kills the engine but the bucket and loader boom work fine and quiet. Can't find anything in the book. Going straight forward or backward its fine only when turning. Maybe some stuck relief valve somewhere.....sam

    Dresser TD 8E

We recently bought this dozer cause the TD15 is too big. Looks great new paint decals etc. but the bottom is toast. I have looked all over this computor nobody even lists pins & bushings, then back in my day they would press these on site. Idea maybe we will cut some pipe and weld two halfs...

Michigan 75A engine rebuild vs repower

We have done that. If you have a mill and a lathe thats all you need for an adaptor plate. My case a Trojan with 264 IH gas. Plate to adapt a 302 Ford V8 10 times more power 10 times quieter.. hardest part was fabbing the exhaust I'm just a sayin

    JD 450 E front idler ?

I thought I had the track tension just right, but after an hours time it seemed a little too tight. So when I let some grease out the idler slamed back about 3 inches. Now for the life of us we can't budge it forward. I have a ratchet binder on the track to the blade so I can stick my finger...

    Ford 6500 hyds

Thanks I found no screen that the book shows. Took floor off and it has about a 1 1/2 short intake hose that is wire reenforced so that aint it. The closest I got to was on U tube, a hydraulic guy explaining this symtom on a Cat. He went around the machine with infared heat gun looking for...

Have you ever dug up a bee's nest?

Being a kid in the early 1950s in this area N.England hornets seemed to rule as well as great big black&yellow spyders which I freak out. Some time starting in the 60s yellow jackets moved in and seems like they killed these hornets and spyders. Im no expert on this but its been like 45 years...

Whats the craziest thing you have dug up?

Two things, back in the early 70's one was a fairly high gravel bank in which we got into some kind of prehistoric elephant bones they were big, I think it was Boston University investigated that one. Second I remember knocking down a small state jailhouse from the Gunsmoke days, uncovered...

    Ford backhoes

Thats an idea I never though of, cutting box wrenches. I know what your going through, its bad enough doing this inside the garage. Another major pain, just wait till the starter takes a dump in a snow storm. I got so34q*% off I hired a guy for $100 to do it plus $200 for the starter. (was...

    Ford backhoes

Aside from replacing one hose at a time, not sure if you are awhere of, that Ford offered a special wrench for those for around $30. I found nearly impossible to do this without this wrench. Dont know if New Holland still offers it but its one of those things you cant live without. I think...

    TD14 Cant control throttle

one more bulleye Forgot to mention an other thing that these catch like a cold. After sitting thru winter gets warmer you start it, switch to diesel and is skipping! First thought one goes to the injectors 9 out of 10 it is the plunger under the rocker arm that is stuck, and thats tricky to...

No its not dead, we are just thinking. As far as adding oil I just change pump oil when changing engine oil, I use #40 with a couple qts of Moreys. And after the cover is off there isnt to much there except that buffer spring. Im no fuel man, but maybe take it off PAY ATTENTION to the timimg...
