    Gainsborough Loading Shovel M.O.D.

Le Tourrneau was an absolute legend of a man and pretty much everything we know and use today regarding earthmoving equipment, is due to his innovations. I still find it hard to believe the scope of his achievements in one lifetime. This is a great read and should be read by everyone in the...

Hitachi EX220-3 After an hour or less smokes black no power to swing, up,in Ect. I know i have seen this but have not seen and fix. Need help Thanks

It could also be the turbo seizing up causing overfueling. Could also be injectors, but more likely something that is global than an individual cylinder. As auy_tong2 mentioned, could be a sensor or ecu problem.

Hitachi EX220-3 After an hour or less smokes black no power to swing, up,in Ect. I know i have seen this but have not seen and fix. Need help Thanks

First I would check the air filter. I had this happen once before. Was running fine then no power, black smoke. It was the air filter.

    Case 350 steering

I had a 310G and broke the brake bands a few times. The 310G was awful to get to turn and stop due to the brake bands not being very effective. You need to keep the brake bands adjusted as tight as you can without them not releasing when you let go of the steering lever. They are changeable by...

CASE 450 DOZER EXPERT NEEEDED TRACK PARTS HELP

I have some very bad corrosion on my 455C spring housing. I had the post that holds the carrier roller fall off a few years ago and I had to repair it on site. I plated the other side at home where I had more equipment at hand. I have to remove the bolts now holding the spring housing as the...

Roosa Master pump won't prime (Case 450 dozer)

The early Case machines were not that easy to bleed and needed a full tank of fuel for easy bleeding. I had a 310g when I was young and green and it stopped with what I thought was enough fuel in the tank for it to have run. Long story short, removed the injector pump and was quoted astronomical...

    case 455b steering question

I have a 455C loader and I do most of my steering while pushing by putting the steering levers in neutral. The machine will turn depending on the load on the bucket/blade. I mainly use the brakes for steering when loading trucks etc and use the transmission steering when the need to turn does...

Why do I see so many excavator videos on youtube with the engine bonnet open?

Yeah, I thought that would be the case, but it seems to be so common in these videos. I have worked in 40c heat and never had the bonnet open. Would it make much difference bonnet open to bonnet closed to engine cooling?

Why do I see so many excavator videos on youtube with the engine bonnet open?

I am curious to find out the reason why so many excavators in youtube videos have the bonnet open. I have seen this very rarely in Australia and have never had reason to do this myself, so I would love to know the reason if there is one as to why the bonnet needs to be open while operating.

    Case 850 Transmission

I have a 455c loader that I have had from new. there is no modulation on my model, (the later ones introduced this feature and should be on the 850G), so you have to decelerate when changing any of the trans levers to avoid impact on the drive train. In practice I would use brake steering over...

    84 Case 350 1st gear lockout?

Hi, I had a 310G which was the last 310 model before the 350 was released. The 310 was almost identical except for having a clutch and direct drive instead of a torque converter and power shuttle. the 310 had basically the same transmission after the power shuttle. You are correct about the...

    Kinked tracks, hiw to straighten

This was a problem for me also. There used to be quite a few track repair companies locally, but with cheaper track groups available now, the cost of turning/replacing pins and bushes combined with the dangers of running such high power presses needed for track work make it no longer a viable...

    Kinked tracks, hiw to straighten

I know on my Kobelco it just got worse as time went on and I eventually had to do something. It was not that noticeable on soft ground but would shake the daylights out of both operator and machine on hard ground or tracking down crushed rock etc. I had it running almost perfectly again, but...

    Kinked tracks, hiw to straighten

I had my pins and bushes replaced by the local hitachi dealer when they had a track shop and have the same problem of frozen links. Highly likely the same grease problem with the links. I have tried nearly everything to get them free and have had a little success. I used heat and two bits of...

    case 350B steering improvement?

I had a 350 loader and it was really tough to steer and very frustrating to load trucks etc. Having the bands and levers adjusted just before the point where they start sticking on is where I got the best performance out of them. The brakes and steering the Case was the thing I most disliked...

Who wants to settle a dispute? Komatsu PC 220

Not sure if this is relevant or not, but I worked on a PC200-5 that was traveling very poorly and was pulling to one side. Turned out to be the cables from the levers to the travel valves were out of adjustment and were not pulling or pushing the valve spool fully. The owner thought his...

    Case 455 track question

From memory the hole in the master pin is around 1/4" diameter and should be facing the outside of the track. It must be driven toward the center or inside of the track. the master pin has some relief on the end where the identifying hole is and the track link is also a bit smaller so once the...

Case 450B with 4 in 1 bucket - First machine!!!!!!!!!

Hi DMiller. The hydraulic and Trans filters are under the right hand arm rest that you access by removing the panel covering the control valve. I have a 455c and it has been a fantastic machine. The 450B was the result of years of improvements on the 450a and also a very good machine. I find...
