I put some startron fuel tank cleaner in and I'm waiting to see results, it is hard to steam clean the tanks as it's baffled and can only get to one area of the tank.

I'm following this thread, i just purchased a 1962 D7E directs drive (47A) , my problem is i have been chasing clogs in fuel line from tank sediment, almost looks like "Algae" as the tractor sat for a long time.

    Ritchie bros auction fees

R.B. gobbled up all the older well known acutioneers or forced them out. I remember Miller & Miller, Max Rouse & Sons, Forke Bros, Alex Lion to name a few. Now it's like you only have one choice, R.B. With all the sites they have, they have to put together a sale 4 times a year at each location...

    D10L. Why Not?

I use to have a easy conversation when talking about D10's. I would always refer to the 84W/76X as "twin stack D10's, that worked until they upgraded the D10R with the "twin stacks". Now since D10's are scarce everyone refers to any generation as a D10, regardless of series. It's nice when you...

Euclis TSS40 and DW20 with doubles

The history that i know about these TTSS40's Western Contacting kept these machines after the California aqueduct job, they split the bowls and made single bowl machines. I think the last job they used them on as scrapers was the Castiac Dam in the late 60's. These tractors are model 53LDT...

    pushloading scrapers

If you look at the situation, there apears to be 4 scrapers on a real short haul, looks like a recompact. You will notice the same equipment numbers apear again. Another dead giveway to the same machines is the one 651b is a converted 657B and you can see it still has the rear planatery axles...

    pushloading scrapers

It's typical on a big spread in Socal if the cut is a long way from the parking area, that the push cats & ripper cats will just be left parked in the cut at the end of the shift & the foreman will ride the operators back to the vehicles. The service truck will come to the cut & fuel and lube...

    pushloading scrapers

Here's a link to one of Socal earthmovers videos of a D9L single pushing 651B's very effeciently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9BMRakDMKQ&feature=player_detailpage

    pushloading scrapers

Hey, I know this is an old thread, if you go to you tube and put in 651 scraper, there are plenty of videos of Single engine scraper/push cats working. I have to favor the operators in Socal as the best, they are very effecient. The push cat Operators you see in France & Germany loading mostly...

Euclis TSS40 and DW20 with doubles

Absolutley the best video i have seen of the old days. It shows men working & getting something acomplished with out any of the modern distractions that slow everyone down. I love that Hough D500 paydozer.

    H Series Cat scrapers

I have seen hooks on the rear of 651B/E's but never a bail, the 651 always runs in the front.

    H Series Cat scrapers

I don't care for that "Playskool" styling. I like the square edge look the the B,E & F series. Plastic has no place in earthmoving.

    H Series Cat scrapers

JTL, They even left the planatery rear axles in the 623.

    D11T we delivered recently.

JTL, I was thinking the same thing about a ripper on the D11T. Is this machine used in a operation, where the need to rip occours?

Alliss Chalmers TS 562 Twin engine Scraperr

I believe Altfillish Const in L.A. California had a large fleet of these machines. Bill Signs (of Signs & Pinnick ) told me he worked on a freeway job job in San Diego Ca about 1965 building I-5 from Genesse ave to Sorrento Valley. They were great dirt movers, easy to load, but thier biggest...
