    Dozer verses Case quad trac

My boss is looking at buying a case quad trac and a couple pans and a dozer blade for earthworks. not a bad idea, have seen lots of them around but he wants to put a dozer blade on the front and use it as a dozer as well. Im trying to convince him not to do that, buy the dozer instead...

    Magnetic bubble level

you mean like this? I bought 6 slopmeters and mounted them to heavy duty magnets. ( been selling them to other operators in the area) I compare the slopemeter to a bubble level to see if it has moved on the brackets and also compare the mounting spot on the machine to make sure they are...

Cedar Rapids question what exactly is a JAW ROLL CRUSHER i know what a jaw is.

Yea, they don't last on the market too long. My dad has helped sell three units in the last couple of years. Usually go to the smaller contractors to supply inhouse or small municipal jobs.

Cedar Rapids question what exactly is a JAW ROLL CRUSHER i know what a jaw is.

Does he have an automatic welder system for the touching up the rolls? if you plan on doing a lot of work, it is an ideal tool to have. I don't know how many people still travel around doing that type of work. I thought about what you said about covering the screen with a steel plate. I...

Cedar Rapids question what exactly is a JAW ROLL CRUSHER i know what a jaw is.

Putting concrete through this type of plant is not advised as all material goes over the screen before it passes through the jaw. If you have a material that has rebar or mesh, it will hang up in the screen. I doubt it would even make it to the jaw, through the second deck to the rolls and...

    GPS hype

I ve be running a grader with gps now for over a year and I have to say that it is not the end all be all in the construction world. Yes, there are times when I couldn't have done the job without it. large parking lots, and big tonnage is a real bonus. Plus I don't have to have a grade man...

What is this valve for on the 740A?

Bobcan got it right. its the hydraqulic hook up for the front snow wing tower. Champion had a two tower setup for the snow wing. one for the front of the blade, and a second tower on the rh hand side at the rear of the machine that lifted the wing up or down and a cylinder that lifted the two...

    Other construction grader blade

I agree that the grader will loose lots of functions. Just a quick view through some of the posts of the forums here, or some of the videos on youtube will show some of what a grader can do. some times operators are only limited by their imagination. As a front dozer blade, I think it would...

    Other construction grader blade

im sure it would have its advantages, it also has its disadvantages. with the wide flat bottom of the blade, I think it would make cutting hard material a little problem. using your blade to reach out and gouge some thing I think is out. don't know how well it would work with gps, as...

    Other construction grader blade

if you look close, there is no circle, so the blade has a hinge in the middle, letting you select your blade angle/angles with the cylinders. It doesn't look like it has curl or blade slide functions. been a few times I could have a used a blade that did that.

    electric to gas motor conversion.

I got a question from a friend today, he s changing an old stacking conveyor from a electric to a gas motor and wondering what the hp conversion is. from what I have read on line this morning it is roughly 1 -1.5 electric to 2 gas. ie. 5 hp electric will do the same as 10-12 hp gas...

    730A champion transmission question

I had a 91 740a champ and had the same problem, and for me it was easier to just lift the whole machine up. blocked it all around with jack stands and rail road ties. cant remember exactly how high it went up but 18 to 24 inches comes to mind. we lowered the transmission down on a trans...

JD 772D Transmission Overheats When Roading

I ran a 772 d for two years and had the same problem, the biggest issue i had was the trans having too much oil. if the level was even a hair over the full, it would overheat while roading. took us a while to figure it out, and once we lowered the level to about half on the dipstick, never...

    New JD770G

the six wheel drive on the new deere graders works in gears 1 to 7. it shuts off in 8th gear. i do like the "snail" mode, which supplies power to only the front wheels. I only works in the first 3 gears, and you get 15 different settings, some of which are even slower than first. just havent...
