What kind of oil should I use?

Halfjack, I would call your dealer for advice and give them the model and serial number. I have never heard of gear oil being used in a torque converter, transmission or steering case. They are supposed to run on a monograde 10W or 30W depending on ambient temperature. This goes for the final...

    Komatsu homework

MKTEF is right... the ground pressure is significantly lower on the PX. Not only is it a wider gauge between the sprockets but there is more track on the ground (approx 600 mm or 2' longer in the case of the D61) and of course has an additional track roller.

    Caterpillar D6KXL

ROPS standards are taken seriously just like seat belts or other safety devices. It will meet/exceed any international requirement and be tagged as such otherwise CAT wouldn't be putting the dozer on the market. As someone else indicated, the strength will preferably be inherent to the cab...

    Newbie with Komatsu PC300LC-5 questions

PC300-5 and -6 Joi, The -5 and -6 are competely different. The hydraulic system pumps, control valves and electrical systems are of different generation. There was also an engine change depending on when and where your -5 was built. Your dealer should be able to sell you a manual or a CD...

    Lets talk Komatsu.

Another point about Australia is that unlike here in North America Komatsu doesn't have dealers. I'm pretty sure that Komatsu Australia is owned by Komatsu itself. I think this changed about 10 years ago so prior to that would likely be different level of support.

    undercarriage problems on D6r

I'm sure they do cover dealer repairs but would question whether CAT would recommend the field replacement of 30 links? Surely this should have been done at the track shop on a track press and if repaired and relubed properly then they wouldn't have leaked?

    undercarriage problems on D6r

Field repair of SALT links Budd... how about if the dry bushings are related to the dealers field repair? wouldn't that becomes the dealers responsibility?

Section for komatsu d20,21 and similar grey market dozers

Sounds like the RH clutch is not releasing and when the brake applies it stalls the engine but you should ensure that the pressure is OK and the release piston and yoke are moving fully.... before you start disassembly (ooops) Once you are sure the problem is in the clutch assy then it can be...

Section for komatsu d20,21 and similar grey market dozers

What's wrong with the dozer?... like most other multi-disc clutch/band type brake dozers the steering clutch has to come out through the top. There should be no reason to remove the final drive :beatsme

Grease fittings not taking grease. What to do?

R Leo I think you will find that they are 1/8 JPT which is the same in this case as 1/8 BPST. I think the holes will be parallel and the fittings tapered.

    Volvo Or Case Excavator

Volvo were also involved with Ackermann around that time I think. They built nice excavators so I'm not sure how much of that design influenced the current lineup.

    Major Problems Ctl 322 Help!

Did you or the dealer find out what caused the overspeed? If its turbocharged I would be concerned about the damage that may have been caused to the turbo, same goes for the top end, rockers and valves etc. If this is a brand new unit with only 3 hrs I would think the manufacturer would...

    Cat 950h - Implements Don't Move

As far as I understand the loader has electronic controls that send a command signal to the machine controller (computer). The controller processes the information recieved from you and all the associated sensors and provides a command to the proportional solenoids on the hyd control valve. I...

    Hidromek excavator stucked

You mean you design and build your own engines, hydraulic pumps and electronics? I checked the website and there is not very much detail on specifications... is there anywhere else we could find them? I have to admit, when I saw the BHL at Conexpo I thought you were working with JCB... and...

    Hidromek excavator stucked

They are made in Turkey and are a relatively new company. They were at the last Conexpo with a nice looking BHL. Like others I would think that they are collabarating with someone on the technology Mr HMK? http://www.hidromek.com/
