Just got a notification, and yes the poor little machine is gone... swept up in a wildfire. I'll post some pics tonight

    Building a custom excavator

After the first job I realized the stick was a bit long for in close work and hoe chucking, so off it came again. I removed 20" from the stick and now it seems to be pretty close to ideal. Also it makes it fit better for transport as I can tuck it in with an attachment on. Spent some of...

You don't have to throw out all your atrachments to change Couplers. You can relug anything to fit a new coupler. It will be a lot cheaper than buying all new buckets.

Anyone Know How to Properly Size Rubber Tracks, Sprockets, Idlers and Rollers?

You definitely have the wrong tracks on there, one other thing I can look into is if the 121-3 used different rollers for steel tracks and rubber tracks. If that's the case it could have been a factory steel track machine someone has swapped to rubber. If you think the rollers guides are too...

Mustang/Gehl/Neuson Excavator shutting down every few minutes

I wish I had seen this earlier! Mine does the same thing, there is a bit of crud in the fuel tank, if you let it run low it all makes its way into the fuel outlet and plugs it up. I usually pull the fuel line off before the filter and use my lungs as a compressed air source and blow it out...

    Building a custom excavator

Had the Neuson out on its first job, and it performed quite well. Had a few small issues and minor leaks, but overall it's an amazing chassis for stability and comfort in the forest. With the reach I have, I can treat a 60' swath from one trail, and with it's very low ground pressure my...

    Building a custom excavator

Getting close now.... Building a quick change tomorrow, spent today converting the hydraulic system from harvester to excavator, moving pilot circuits, adding a directional valve, and finally making it work on the joystick buttons.

    Homestead Machine Recommendations Needed

I've done this, for your use go with wheels. I tried the exact same thing with a bobcat t300... Plows great the first couple snowfalls then it ices up and they're almost useless. I studded tracks, did everything possible. Still useless. Get yourself a nice big 2 speed wheeled machine and...

    Smartphone holder

I find it pretty easy to stop operating the machine and tend to phone calls, having to put a phone in a pocket for fear of a catastrophic disaster seems a bit over the top. I too am looking for a good phone holder, I run Bluetooth audio books and music from my phone so it has to be out, not to...

    Building a custom excavator

Made some headway, moved the cylinder for the stick to the bottom, what an amazing increase in lifting power. In the factory position I couldn't budge those 2 logs with the stick controls. It's set at 4400psi...and it wouldn't even try to lift them. Now it lifts them effortlessly. I was...

    Building a custom excavator

No way! This is a deutz 4cyl, 100hp. They have eliminated the swinging boom I heard it was a weak spot as well. I bought this one in Nova Scotia actually and had it shipped west.
