So couple months ago I was talking to my son in law . He works for a company that does utility work . dry work for the most . I asked him If we started a shop and you could have any machine you wanted what would you want ? He siad JCB . So had to ask why . He was commenting on the feel and...

So many Case threads. Either really popular, or unreliable?

I think one thing with Case hoes is they were one of the first to make backhoes . So lots of shops used them . As time progressed lots of case hoes were running and as new guys came about they learned on them and passed that on . With that they are good machines . 580e I think is one of the best...

    K Tech scrapers?

Saw some of the 40 yard ones with 740 cats being pushed by d10 . I can't get the tire wear thing . 6 tires on the cat , 6 tires on the pan . I get underfoot conditions but why not just use 37 or 57 push pulls ?

    Dozer vs Track Loader

Back in the 80s when I lived in socal I was working for a grading contractor . We had a guy we would call to dig house pads on extremely steep slopes . He had a 977L with ripper with a winch that slid into the shank pockets . It had a 4&1 bucket with dual slope boards on the bucket . Didn't...

    New Komatsu Owner

It looks good not abused and Komatsu makes a good machine . But at 5000 hours something will be broke and that's probably why it comes with the property . 5000 is the magic number for Komatsu and that simple part will be stupid expensive to replace .

    Completely new at this :/

I think I didn't get the point across . Wasn't green Ran the bobcat for months . Most people in a panic hit the breaks and that means feet not hands . Most I think will react that way if new and I wasn't just natural reaction . Would also hit breaks in a scraper even when they don't work before...

    KATO Equipment

there isn't a dealer within 1200 miles of me so that's a negative . Ive heard good and bad about the older ones but nothing about the new ones . Kato bought IHI and lots of rental houses rented them . Ran a couple of those and they were ok . Nothing bad nothing good just ok .

    Completely new at this :/

If you can swing it and shipping would be a concern but ford made a good hoe . A lot are municipal machines so good care but old and parts are a problem when it breaks and they all break . Old cats like a 416 for some reason keep ticking and you can get parts . Lots of farmers around here have...

So we all have machines we just like the look of . Other than my affinity for cat equipment I always liked the look of dresser equipment . Ford wheel loaders always looked cool . 80s case backhoes had a cool look . What equipment do you like just by the look ?

    The Scraper Show

I saw 4 or 5 wabco elevators working in Fresno CA on Thursday and 6 Ts 24 loadrunners in Fresno as well . The 24s haven't moved in 5 or so years but they run and ready to work . No of these machines have red stickers on them as well . how they get away with it I do not know . Also some ts 24s in...

    1999 Ford/NH 555e purchase

I love me some ford hoes , strong , powerful and quite reliable . My buddies dad had like 8 or 10 of them in the 80s . Spent lots of time on them and liked them . Best operator I have ever worked with swore by them . As far as fixens that aint what I do unless it is real simple . I think the...

    Service Truck Stolen

You almost always get the truck back just not with the tools as you know . The jacked mine and burned out the lock with a cutting torch and dumped it in a vacant lot . My wallet and company check book were not touched . They say that is not what they want just the tools . I feel you're pain ...
