    Dump pump air switch

Mitch, the truck came from the city I bought it from with a two hose setup. It is 48 years old and had the original pump on it. I took the cylinder to the local hydraulic shop and he laughed when I told him I wanted them to reseal the pump because it leaked. He said the pump was from the 50's...

    Dump pump air switch

Hmmm, that makes sense. So there isn't air against the actuator all the time.

    Dump pump air switch

If I'm not mistaking the way the switch the first responder shows. It has an air supply port. And two ports out. When the switch is in, air is supplied to the port to push the air spool to the neutral (or down) position. When pulled out it supplies air to shift the spool to the engage(or up)...

    Dump pump air switch

I understand that the pto doesn't want to be engaged all the time. Only when dumping. So what is different with the cable shifting the valve and air shifting the valve? Not trying to argue, trying to rap my tiny brain around why one is ok and the other isn't?

    Dump pump air switch

Ok, so I have been trying to figure out why it is ok for the pto to run and the spool valve shifted with a cable all the way to let the bed down and it isn't ok to do the same with an air switch? Went to a site that muncie has to let you know how dump truck pumps work. My setup is two line on my...

    Dump pump air switch

Please educate me further. The control is for the dump bed pump. I guess I don't understand how the pump works. When it was cable operated, I thought it shifted the pump spool valve all the way out to let the bed down. And the switch he suggested would do that. I knew that I wouldn't be able to...

    Dump pump air switch

Just the pump. The pto is set up on a floor shifter. Thanks for your help! I just want on and off on the pump, so that switch would work great!

    Dump pump air switch

I put a new pump on my old chevy bobtail. I ordered it with an air solenoid to switch the pump on and off. It has two ports. One to push the spool control on,one for off. Seemed pretty simple at the time. Of course it came with no instructions. I can't find a in cab air switch anywhere on the...

    JD 510b starter solenoid?

Bwar, everything you describe I've had with my 410b. I replaced the solenoid under the panel. The neutral switch. Brand new starter from JD. New push button. New key switch. New battery's. Checked all the cables and wiring. Thought I had it licked. Now she is starting do do it again. At one...

    john deere 310a loader dropping

I had the same problem in my 410B. It ended up being a bad spool valve. I even took the old spool in to be rebuilt. They said I was good to go. Same thing, took it back and told them it was bypassing and they blamed the cylinder. I told em it had just been rebuilt and they said the guys that did...

JD 410B and JD510B... good machines?

I have a 83 410 B It's a good solid backhoe. As mentioned, I think they are heavier than a 580. I paid 11,500 for mine a few years ago and have had to do some repairs. But I'm glad I bought it. It is fairly easy to work on and has enough power after all these years to get the job done.

    Backhoe rate?

$60.00 an hour here. I have guy that rents my hoe for neighborhood jobs. He gives me $30.00 an hour he keeps $30.00. Hell I know that doesn't even cover wear on the thing but he has a hauling business (2 dump trucks) and is damn near starving to death. So I let him use it to try and help feed...

Wow:Pointhead, I take it back... Don't buy it!

    1986 Case 580 super E anyone??

Buy it. That sounds like a good deal for a 4x4 super E. If he's willing to tear out stumps to demo it for you, I don't think he has anything to hide. The hydraulics are going to bypass no matter what when they get to relief bypass pressure. I've dug stumps out and it's pretty amassing...

Run from Ford 555a with welds on bucket linkage?

Wow, I paid $11,500 for my 410B. Every old hoe has problems as stated above. Don't plan on not fixing things on a 20 to 30 year old hoe. That's just not realistic. I've rebuilt the main hydro pump and replaced two spool valves. I now have a good old dependable hoe. But I bought it knowing...

    Steel mill heavy equipment

Yep, mill where I worked was no cameras allowed. They let the wives of Blast Furnace workers be on the floor for a cast to see what their husbands did for a living. Damn lawyers put an end to it before my wife got to see it. It's a different and damn dangerous world. My second shift there, I was...

    Steel mill heavy equipment

Worked on a blast furnace here in Utah for 13 years. I've looked into a lot of slag pots being driven away by a slag buggy after we just filled em. I ran a transfer car that hauled 100 tons of ore at a time for years. Lots of neat specialized equipment in a steel mill.

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

Ok, went out back and took a couple of pics of Ole Yeller. She's a good old 410b. Like a second wife. Keeps my wallet empty at all times.:D
