JLG to Discontinue Gradall Rear-Pivot Steer Telehandler Models

I thought they had quit making them several years ago, but I think Speedpup set me straight on that a few months ago :) I really like Gradalls, helping a customer buy a few right now that he's shipping out of the country.

How do you find the best repair services?

Terry at Commercial Hydraulics (Knoxville) has always done good work for me, especially with pumps and motors. 865-522-2725 I know of another guy that's closer to you, but I haven't been as happy with his work...

How do you find the best repair services?

Most dealers around here either replace or farm out to a local hydraulic shop. Where at in TN are you?

Heavy Equipment Repair Services - Accounting Software

I use DealerTrax and while it does a great job on the equipment invoicing/tracking/inventory side, it does not do well on the accounting side. But it will export to QuickBooks.

Hey mechs, What's in your box?

I used to really try and stick with Snap On, Mac, etc. but the $$$ is absolutely crazy. I still have a lot of smaller hand tools (pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) made by them and they certainly "feel" better than some other brands. But in the past 10 years I doubt if I've even been on a...

What happens when you drive a boom lift too fast....

Oh no, they would NEVER do that! There's little doubt in my mind, same operator who tried to drive it with one jack all the way down...:)

What happens when you drive a boom lift too fast....

down a really steep hill. Used to see these a lot, of course this happened at 7 PM on a Sunday in the middle of a street on the side of a mountain :). Anyways, here's the exploded drive motor....

    The Green Thing

Pumps are air operated, oil and hyd are piston pumps and the waste pump is a diaphragm pump. I'll have to check the specs but they are plenty fast!

Anyone run an 8040 JCB Mini?

We had a few we rented, don't really remember any problems other than the pushblade mounting being weak. One of my mechanics bought one that had been rolled a few years back and we finally had to rebuild the engine a few months ago, internal engine parts are pricey

    The Green Thing

We used the waste oil pump twice today in the shop, dunno how we made it without it!

    The Green Thing

OK here are the tanks...Approximately 80 gallons waste oil on the bottom and 45 each for hyd oil and engine oil. Waste oil can be reversed to pump oil out of tank. Waste oil reel is on the left, other 2 are hyd and engine with meters...YEY!!!!

Atco/Paul is there anyone local who has them?

    The Green Thing

Atco...you're not nice, I'll deal with you in person!!! Everybody else...thanks for the compliments, I've been busting my butt getting this thing ready! I'm thinking of listing some names of equipment we work on on some of the empty doors, like Skid Steers, Boom Lifts, Excavators, Reach...

    The Green Thing

I missed out on a crane a few months ago, ought to have my butt kicked for missing out on it :Banghead Our other truck is a F-350 and it has the welder, but no tanks, so after doing the bucket and gallon jug thing for over 2 years I'm pretty excited about these! Every Sunbelt Isuzu truck I've...

Quick connect for lights question? Deutsch plugs?

Deustch plugs and connectors are outstanding, but it can be difficult to find the connectors...plus they are a tad bit tricky to put on and pretty much require a special crimp tool. Because no one seems to ever deal with the connectors correctly, I normally use a 2 contact molded flat connector...

    The Green Thing

Tried to drive it back from Ohio, trans seal blew, went back Sunday and got it. Replaced front trans seal, cleaned, lettered, installed air compressor, 4 new rear tires, etc. I had EVERY intention of painting it but I'm already over budget on this truck, so Green It Is (for a while). Finally got...

Yes they are an excellent deal if you can find one that has been taken care of. I'm looking for another or two...:) OK, so here's what we started with last Friday...
