Is it going to one of the coal mines here? Just curious...

    Clark 290m photos and information

Is that the same outfit that was working on 94 a couple years ago? If I recall correctly, they also had a couple Clark 275 loaders with duals on the front that they were using on the project, loading the broken up concrete from the highway. Might be a different company that I'm thinking of...

    What engine do you prefer.

I have an '07 Pete 379 with a Cat C15 in it. I recently had it turned up from 475 to 575, and the torque from 1850 to 2150. 604,000 miles on it, and have never had any issues with it.

Ever see a big Bobcat dozer?

They also made a very large twin-engined loader at one point as well. I don't know that it ever made it past the prototype stage, and sadly, I don't have any pictures of it, but it was a monster, sort of like this thing (I've seen one of these in person when I was younger---interesting machines)

Alaskan Logging Equipment, Left to Rust

^I agree. I've visited this thread and looked at all the pictures many, many times.

    cat m popularity

Somebody up in Canada has been apparently getting a few new 24Ms. In the past few weeks, I've passed 4 different Mullen trucks in Wisconsin hauling brand new ones.

    New Bobcat T870/S870

I used to love running the 953/963 machines on the farm when dad would bring one home, but I remember him saying many times that they were very poor sellers (which would be why they were discontinued, I guess). But they would move a lot of dirt or manure or whatever other larger job we needed...

    Mel-Trac T660

There might be some stuck away in photo albums at my mom's place. Some of the machines just had experimental engines, hydraulic or hydrostatic systems, cabs, etc, while some were just plain different all together. There were actually a couple models of the 6-wheel machine, but I don't...

    Mel-Trac T660

There's still a couple of them sitting at the Bobcat factory in Gwinner. They used to use one of them for snow removal around the yard once in awhile, but they have been parked out back in the graveyard for a few years now. There have been several other odd machines that never made it past...

    Southern Indiana Coal Mining Images!

I've hauled some stuff into a powerplant that was very near the Coteau mine recently, but the only thing there was a big Komatsu wheel dozer that they used for pushing coal. I could see one of the draglines way off in the distance, but it was so far away that I couldn't make anything out. I've...

    Southern Indiana Coal Mining Images!

I've been trying to figure out what machines they have working there, but haven't been able to get close enough. Been by there many, many times, though.

    Steel mill heavy equipment

I've got a couple pics of the big straddle carriers from US Steel, I'll have to find them and post them here too.

    Steel mill heavy equipment

Oops, I meant the straddle carriers. They also have some other really big equipment running around there, but the straddle carriers are the ones that keep running past the part of the plant where I'm usually at.

    Steel mill heavy equipment

I've seen the big slab carriers in action several times at US Steel in Gary, Indiana. Huge machines.

    290M Clark Michigan scrapers

I was just going to post about this, but you beat me to it! You're right, they are a quite impressive operation to watch.
