    Access to JD450 brake band?

Neither one of mine on my 450C was working. I had to remove both covers and inspect and adjust them. The adjustment can be done without removal of the covers, by removing a 1" plug on each side. It has an adjuster like drum brakes do.

    The Ultimate Small Dozer

I have a Deere 450C and it's a powerful little machine and small enough to haul with my f250. I was impressed at it's ability to knock down mesquite trees.

Biggest dozer to pull without having a CDL?

I know this a pretty vague question, but I have an F250 with a gooseneck rated at 24k lbs. In Texas the law is fairly lenient on ranchers pulling heavy equipment to a certain extent. So what is the biggest/heaviest dozer recommended for us non-commercial drivers who can haul them around? I...

    PAT blades pushing trees.

The guy that says the nut came off the threaded end..lmfao...that b.s...it's possible, but more often then not you'll shear a pin or pop a weak line..you'll be ok..trust me in s. Tx all we have is pat blades and they work fine..I've been dozing for 15 years and like them better than side mount

    Can someone explain this

Nige I really appreciate and value your input. I totally understand where you are coming from, but I can live with an initial rapid wear of a $130 sprocket, vs the economics of turning the pins and bushings..and from what I have read for my machine its more feasible just to replace with new...

    Can someone explain this

Yes, as in my post #72 the measurement is 25.53" which puts me right at 70%..as for the culprit,I pulled rock guard off and I could see where rails were rubbing..the rollers were shot...so I'm going to replace all rollers, front idler and sprocket..I'm not a business or do dozing for a living...

Bushings are good. I will take pics tonight when i get home.

    Can someone explain this

Nope, I have measured the rails and according to the service manual they are within spec. Also if the tracks were wrong, i would think both sprockets would be broken up. IMO the previous owner was really bad about maintenance.
