    PowerTilt Rebuild

In the kit for a Helac PowerTilt, what is the purpose of those grease reliefs and port covers? What do you suppose is the pressure rating of those grease reliefs? Thanks.

    Electrically Conductive Grease

Oxalic acid, sold as "barkeeper's friend" or "bon ami", will clean the hell out of contacts and remove oxidation.

    milky hydraulic oil

I'll agree AMSOIL is the best there is. I use their TSO 0w30 in my car. I used to work at NAPA, and I sold stuff from their whole line. For a while I actually bought the stuff directly from their distribution center in Orlando. Unfortunately, not everyone uses good synthetic fluids. All people...

    Mixing of hydraulic oil types

That's just like the automotive industry. "It's made for your equipment." It's a crock. OEMs don't want you using aftermarket stuff because they lose profit. Ask him WHY you have to use their fluid, and you'll find him long winded about how it's "specially engineered" for your equipment but...

Burning Your Waste Oil In Your Engine???

I think it would only be an issue if the equipment is heavily loaded. You need to run lean to burn off heavier oils. Otherwise, you'll be left with sludge and carbon. Go easy on the engine, and I say it's a great idea, especially with this market.

    milky hydraulic oil

There's no replacement for actually CHANGING the fluid. Your oil can get coked (partially burnt) because these systems can run up to 200 F. Absorption of air and contamination with water only make matters worse. Petroleum oils form acids when contaminated like this, and it forms acids which can...

    Oil filters

Teflon tape? By the way, NAPA filters are WIX filters. Buy a NAPA brand filter and a WIX brand filter and you'll see they even have the same imperfections.

Anybody have a swinger attachment ??

I'd tell you what I paid, but I'd imagine it varies a lot depending on your model. My distributor sold me two grease relief fittings and two "port covers" that look like automotive freeze plugs with sloppy holes in them. They luckily weren't in the kit, so I have a chance to return them. (I...
