Air Brakes for Under CDL Vehicles

The reason this has been coming up more often is because more chassis manufactures are offering air brakes on trucks under 26,00 GVW. A lot of people prefer the better stopping power of air and the longer brake life they are getting. I was talking with a Pete dealer about there 19,500 GVW...

Air Brakes for Under CDL Vehicles

I know... It seems a little backwards to me, and maybe the standard driver's license should offer some of these options to make things a little safer on the roadways. The question was posed to the Federal Motor Carrier and Saftey Administration about requiring a CDL if the vehicle had air...

Air Brakes for Under CDL Vehicles

I have been asked if you are required to have a CDL with an air brake endorsement if the vehicle is under 26,000 GVWR a lot lately, and I couldn't find an answer anywhere. So I called the Federal Motor Carrier and Saftey Administration to clarify. The ruling is that license requirement comes...

    Where is the harness???

I found this video of a Chinese demo team taking down a large building. It makes my stomach hurt just watching this. Beijing worker risks his life to demolish part of a building

    4x4 Options????

Thanks for the links guys. I read those and feel a little more comfortable with this system.

    Um, what were they thinking?

If you watch the video closely you will see that the rear cables are actually streched around the back end of the crane truck!!! This is how people end up injured or dead.:idea

    4x4 Options????

I am looking for opinions on upfitting a Pete 335 chassis to 4-wheel drive. I have found a couple of places that will install the transfer case and a front drive axle at a cost around $20K - $30K. Then the other day I recieved information on a hydraulic driven front wheel drive system. If you...

    New heavy equipment fun park...

Now if you could just get these suits to come out to a site and pay you to do your work, it would be perfect.

    look mom no ramps

Those Germans are pretty inventive. Watching that, I do have a question. It seems like the truck is in neutral and the loader is pulling the truck backwards to load itself. Was this done by one operator? Did he have someone else in the truck? Anyway, awsome video:laugh

    Pond building techniques

WOW!! These stories remind me of the infamous "exploding whale". When an 8 ton dead whale washed up on the beach, they figured the best way to get rid of it was to blow it up. If you don't remember this, I have included the link to the video.:falldownlaugh...

    #&*#&^#@! Theives!!!

Hey Adam, I am right over in your neck of the woods, and we had 16 converters stolen off of our equipment. $26,000 just for parts!!! That happened over Memorial day weekend. The cops did come down and write up a report, and I am happy to say that late last week, they caught the guys and they...

    Anybody have>NEW Dodge 5500 /Sterling

I found out that Dodge has "made it easier" to access and install the PTO and pump on the 5500's. Now you only have to remove the front seat and pull up the flooring to expose an access panel. This panel is on every 5500 built after Jan 1st 2008. Doesent really matter much considering it is...
