    Cat 950A Front end loader

Serial number would help but I believe you adjust the clevis on the engagement rod to apply more pressure. A lot of times those machines got driven with the brake on destroying the brake linings.

    Buying a 1977 D9H

Get someone knowledgeable to inspect the machine. As mentioned those final drives can be a fortune to repair. A newer elevated drive machine is far easier to repair.

    Winter Fuel Treatment?

When operating a rigid grader with a fully locked rear end I advise you to negotiate as many of your turns as possible in reverse. Pulling the steering end works a lot more effectively than pushing it if traversing icy terrain.

    Cat 924H Heater issue

If you check the schematic Nige sent you follow the power distribution to the cab. There will be a heavy wire in and a heavy wire out with one or two smaller operating wires. A quick shot with a heat gun when its acting up should do the trick.

    Cat 924H Heater issue

Does that model have a continuous duty solenoid to operate the cab power? They tend to freeze up causing similar symptoms.

    Hydraulic hose replacement cleanliness

They blow the plugs through every time where I get them made. Maybe the proximity to head office ? You should ask next time. And I’ve never had one fail as a fault of the hose. My location does put tape over the end as a precaution to keep debris out. We use a metal cap/plug if it has to go in...
