    80 Class Excavator Comparison

We bought a JD75G last fall. Had never owned anything smaller than a 20MT. The 75 has the Excavator style boom vs the Backhoe swing style. Looks heavier duty to me. Quick,Quiet,Fuel efficient,Super Comfortable. Will handle Pre cast manhole sections. Has coupler & aux hyd for Hoe Pac. Yanmar...

Excavators taking the place of dozers????

We are a Sewer, Water & Storm Drainage Contractor. We own one Case 650 Dozer & three Excavators. The Dozer is a '90 model with around 3k hrs. and rarely gets used. We use a Backhoe & Excavator for most of our work. If it is muddy, we switch to our LGP track loader. We backfill our bigger...

Whats the craziest thing you have dug up?

Was in Blytheville, Ar in the late 90's installing some Sanitary Sewer in a farm field about 12 feet deep and ran across some large trees laid down horizontally in the bottom of the trench. I'm thinking from the New Madrid Earthquake in the 1800's??

    Hitachi EX200LC Problem

We also had to have our throttle linkage replaced at about 6000 hrs. Was not running properly in the "modes". This helped the machine in that perspective. It really sounds to me like a fuel problem similar to the one I previously mentioned.

    Hitachi EX200LC Problem

masseymgr, We had a 690E & at one time had a similar problem with inconsistent performance, was very frustrating-ended up being the water/fuel seperator filter was in need of replacing. Was an easy fix. Hope yours is as well.

Who makes the best Wheel Loader in the 3 cyd. range??

Thanks Guys, I'm thinking of a Case 621 or a JD 544 with a quick attach & some forks. Will probably go new. We are very particular with our Equipment & it works well for us to buy new. What do you think that will run me in $$$, anyone know??

Who makes the best Wheel Loader in the 3 cyd. range??

Thanks sultan & DGODGR for the comments, I'm thinking that a wheel loader would be a great addition to my fleet-just have to break out the 555G WT in the Winter & Spring.

    Deere vs Cat controls

Jdigger4130, I am definately not an expert, but I do have a preference. I learned on "JD" controls and that's how our three Hitachi's are set up today. Learned to dig on a Ford 555 wobble stick backhoe, so it was a natural for me. Still cannot run "cat" pattern". Not sure if one is more...

Who makes the best Wheel Loader in the 3 cyd. range??

Was wondering a few things about Wheel Loaders: How well do they backfill trench spoils, how good do they perform in the mud, are they a type machine a utility contractor can use year around, or is it a dry weather machine only?? Your comments would be appreciated.

    crawler carriers

waterman, I used to own a Mooroka MST-1500 & it was a great off-road machine. Komatsu makes a CD60-R & a 110-R as ATCOEQUIP mentioned. These machines would be better than the Mooroka's( I'm thinking) because of the rotating upperstructure. I also own a track loader, and the Track Dumper would...

john deere 690 E LC comments

I appreciate all the comments from you guys, I respect & enjoy reading your opinions & thoughts on these machines. When I bought my first Hitachi back in '99, I demoed a case 9030B, Komatsu 200LC & the Hitachi 200LC-V on a sewer project I was working on. The Hitachi won hands down. I had...

john deere 690 E LC comments

Deeretime, I know everyone has there own opinion on what is the best, and in my limited opinion I like the Hitachi machine. The '93 690E we owned was babied & gave us nothing but problems. I was not informed about using anything but hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system. Even if the pumps...

7 km gravity sewer main picks

Deeretime, asking others on this forum "what they think" of your pictures is a loaded question (ha ha). I think your pics are really good. I put pipe in the ground for a living & it looks like you have a good set up. Neat looking work & nice looking equipment. I like the rock tub with the...
