Looking at dump trucks again, single axle vs tandem

My buddy had one shortly after they were introduced and had nothing but trouble with it. Some electrical gremilin would make it shut down randomly and not restart. After two years of trips to the dealer and several lost loads of asphalt IH bought the truck back.

    Computers anyone?

I'm convinced that technology will eventually be the demise of mankind. They can now create video images of anyone doing anything they wish which is great for creating movies but someone who is very good at it could create an incriminating video against someone they have a beef with. Audio...

Can I swap out Yanmar diesel with another type/brand engine?

As has been mentioned, I'm thinking Kubota will be your best bet in finding something similar. I run a grounds maintenance department and when I started they were running all J/D machines. The best thing about them was the Yanmar engines, they never broke down. Unfortunately the rest of the...

Owatonna (mustang) 330 24hp motor swap with 20 B&S vanguard motor.

I can't answer your question but I can tell you I've had very good experience with the Vanguard engine. The difference between a 20 and 22HP engine isn't noticeable to me so I'm not sure your case will be much different.

    New Holland 4.75 Injector Replacement

I'm the Department Manager where I work but I try to keep the equipment running in between administration work. What should have taken a couple days ended up being a couple weeks with everything else I have on my plate. While I was disassembling I came across a number of bolts that were not much...

    Fuel Storage

I don't know what the rules require but you want to take every precaution to avoid an uncontrolled leak. Cleanup costs are astronomical! I'm not sure if this is a state or federal law, but if you have a combined amount of 1000 gallons or more on one location there's a bunch of paperwork...

    Detroit 10/71?

Do you think it would hypothetically stay together at 6000RPM?? I've got the Ford 6.8V10 in an F550 at work and it sounds just like a V6. It's interesting how that works out. I wondered if the 10/71 designation might be something made up for an aftermarket blower of the GM style.

    Detroit 10/71?

I was watching "My Classic Car" on Motor Trend this morning and Dennis was touring a car show hosted at Lake George. He came across a replica Yenko Nova that had a 500 something cubic inch engine that was a showpiece and the owner claimed to have a 10/71 blower on it. I've never seen or heard of...

Opion on a 1995 GMC 6500 Dump Truck.

The GMC looks like a former plow truck, I'd look it over real close for rust, it may have spread salt and if it's a double rail frame it might be pushing the frame apart.

    New Holland 4.75 Injector Replacement

Thanks! I went to the New Holland dealer and one of the techs was willing to talk with me and walk me through it. He said if I hadn't tampered with the adjustment screw it will be fine and the clamping nut gets torqued to 21 ft/lbs

    New Holland 4.75 Injector Replacement

I have a 2016 New Holland 4.75 at work that came back with an engine miss. Figured it out to be bent pushrods. Full disclosure, my diesel repair experience has been very limited. I've rebuilt Ford and Chevy gas engines from scratch a number of times with no issues so I figured I'd give this a...

    Winter Works

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos of graders plowing snow, some are set up with front blades and a wing but many are using the center mounted blade only for plowing snow. I've seen them used on both gravel and paved roads. I've plowed snow for 40+ years but with trucks and loaders only...

    Snowplow hydraulic flow restrictor

I have a snowplow on my skid steer and experienced the same problem. I've got flow restrictors on both hoses to overcome it, though I have two cylinders.

    Kaufman Trailers:

I own two Kaufman trailers myself and have bought two for my employer as well. Best bang for the buck I've found and they will do nearly any customizing you're willing to pay for. My trailers aren't near as heavy as what you're looking at, 25K and lighter but their build quality is on point. I'm...

    Flashing lights

Do you have a trailer plug? They tend to corrode and stray voltage will cross wires through the corrosion.
