    which grader JD/Volvo/komatsu

Try the M series 2, I think you will be impressed. The 140M we have has the C9.3 and has had the few problems of the series 1 sorted out. The power and torque of the C9 is not even worth comparing with the C7 in the series 1 140's.The C7 in the 140 was a very big mistake hopefully they can...

    what make is this

I think we should really thank Komatsu for there product... Because without Komatsu, Caterpillar would not be making the quality equipment it is today. As for it being a copy of the D8H, if you have ever seen the final drive parts from both sitting on a bench you will know that is just an old...

    what make is this

Says alot about those old girls eh. They were a bloody good tractor, my old boss had one that had a chain hanging of her ass most of her life in some of the thickest timber and steepest country anybody has ever seen. She had a bad radiator leak at one stage and for quite a few weeks we would...

    140 H or H2 ?

Stuff this fella's let's just go back to horse and cart days... Maybe bring back some steam powered machines as well. Honestly we all need to get with the times, If you want work on large scale construction jobs you need the latest equipment most of the time. Now there are a few exceptions out...

    Track bolts

Be a little careful if you have sealed chains and are thinking about welding the bar on the machine, the plate gets very very hot and I would keep an eye on your pin temp while in the process. I have heard of quite a few horror stories about dry pins soon after the job. For this reason we chose...

    Fan...blow out or suck in?

In our 155 it is as simple as turning a dial to the clean setting and bingo the radiator is clean. You can also leave it in reverse all day if so desired.

    land clearing techniques

Holy Hell 10 grand an acre that is incredible!! Wish we could get those sort of dollars out here, would retire after a couple of jobs. That sort of money means I could run my D7H for a week and a half and only clear 1 acre, could you imagine the cocky when he revisits you after a week and your...

    land clearing techniques

From what I can see in those photos it looks like your 8 would handle those trees no problems.Chaining would be a good option, however there are a few things to consider, first of all have you ever done any or know someone that has?The last thing you need is to try and learn how to pull timber...

    140M vs 770D Pictorial

Well said ovrszd I think many of us would agree that all jobs will have certain differences and require different techniques. This being said I think that when we are talking about road maintenence (grading gravel roads)there are many things that will change the way you do the job.Where I work...

    140M vs 770D Pictorial

ovrszd I wish some of our local council operators down under had an attitude like yours. 9 times out of 10 they are given the newest gear available and operate the machines like they would something 30 years old. Also they only do that about 5 hours a day!! If we as contractors were to...

Any Cat M series Graders operators out there?

I think that the knock between 4th and 5th is because the tranny goes to a different set of clutch packs. Now I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time, but the 12 & 140H I used to drive had the same trouble and that was the reason for it. The M series could be different though.

    "Worlds Biggest Blade Plough"

Price per acre is around $70au these days, anything under that you should be sitting at home going broke drinking **** rather than out busting your butt driving driving dozers.

    Lets talk Komatsu.

I have looked at your earlier posts Deas, and found them very much the same as the others I have come across. The only thing I wanted out of the last post of mine was for you to say something positive about Komatsu. Needless to say I have I have a smile on my face. They are not so bad afterall...

    Lets talk Komatsu.

Deas When was the last time you ran a Komatsu machine for a long period of time?I beleive the only way to really comment on a machine and brand is to have recent seat time with their products and by seat time I mean a few months or more, that way you really get to know how far they have...

I have a Cat at the moment which was bought secondhand and we have had no major problems so far.As an operator working for contractors around Qld before i started...
