Yep, the vent valve is in place and in good shape. This model doesn't have the seal. -

Went back to the machine today and replaced the thermostat. The old was stuck open just a shade. However it still won't warm up to operating temp. After replacing the thermostat the engine temp came up to about 130 but that's all the warmer I could get it. Beginning to think I'm going to have to... -

289D XPS
If it's a 289 it will have the standard undercarriage. 287's had the ASV undercarriage, which can get very pricey to replace and maintain unless you need it for what your using the loader for.- 02Dmax

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention that. That's how I came up with 110 degrees. I used a non contact thermometer gun and thats the warmest temp I could find. Farther back on the head it was checking at about 95 degrees -

I went and ran it for about 45 minutes on Tuesday. The engine temp gauge on the dash was reading dead center in the operating range, which apparently translates to about 110 degrees. Haha. I could not get it to warm up beyond that. I picked up a thermostat and coolant yesterday. Waiting on the... -

Bobcat 334 possible Fuel Shut off solenoid/fuel pump problem--can't find the solenoid!
I'm guessing both are solenoids but you need to look at you electrical plug to see which one you have. 26 is probably a jumper harness that enables you to use a newer style solenoid or something. Bobcat did that alot. But first things first I'd check for good voltage at the plug and also change...- 02Dmax

In my opinion the key to using oil sampling is to do it every service and establish a good amount of data. That way when you compare numbers from previous samples and you notice one climbing or way high you can say, "ok, this is a change from normal so looks like we've got something going on...- 02Dmax

Ya it says to set it at 1600 rpm so that's what I've been doing. I'm going back up there tomorrow to investigate the temperatures better. -

Sounds good, I'll do that. The other day when I looked at it, he had been running for 7 hrs in long pushes and the trans temp was 145 F. It was cold outside but that's still low. Thanks guys. -

Correct, no codes. I'll have to check on what it usually operates at. You might be on to something though. This machine used to run hot all the time. The owner would have to clean the radiator out daily and still have to shut it down sometimes to avoid the buzzer coming on. This spring we... -

Ya it looks right. I haven't cross checked it with a thermometer but the reading is always within a few degrees of ambient if the machine hasn't been ran yet, then warms as would be expected. About 145-150 F is all the warmer it gets under normal conditions. I usually have to stall it to get it...
