    Pulling logs.

Has anyone seen that new show "Ax Men" on the history channel I believe. It follows three logging comapnies in Oregon. It's a great show that gives you a first hand look into the logging industry. Anyhow, If that guy tries to drag a heavy log up a hill he might be in a world of hurt towing...

    Conexpo pics (links)

Here are a few pics I snapped at the show. The one with the tires is the walking beam on a CAT scraper. With that setup it keeps the front edge more stable on the ground when the unit goes over a bump or uneven ground. In other words it's supposed to prevent "porpoising" (check my spelling...

    Caterpillar Reference Books

Northart, I just say "50 years on tracks" go for $200 on ebay. I bought my copy 2 months ago for $14. My copy of the performance handbook #17 only went for $9.99 with one bidder and 2 weeks before the same book went for $72 with a bunch of bidders. Win some lose some I guess.

    dozer suggestions

I would definetly have someone with some experience look at any piece of machinery your are considering for purchase. An experienced mechanic is a good option. Fixing or replacing parts or components on these machines can get expensive very quickly. And watch out for the auction dozers, if...

I'm a parts reseller specializing in surplus CAT parts. I've dealt with almost every CAT dealer mentioned in this thread. My experience has been good, but I'm usually selling THEM parts so maybe they're a little nicer to me :cool2 Most of our interactions are over the phone and pretty short...
