West coast Trailer or East coast trailer

The question should really not be what is better but where and what are you hauling. If you are going to stay on the east coast then having a trailer set up for the rules of the east coast is the way to go. If you are going be hauling all over the lower 48 then would need a west coast style if...

Yes its a popcorn worthy story....no not going to post it.

    16 tire brake adjustment

It should have the Haldex auto slacks on that trailer. The Haldex Auto slacks seem to be the most trouble free but they are not immune to issues. If the adjuster tab is in the wrong position they have a tendency to over adjust. How I use to set them up was tighten them down then back them off...

Just Rolled out of the final finish shop today..9 axle trailer

One rolled out the door about a month before I left the company. I don't know if there are anymore to be built or not.

Just Rolled out of the final finish shop today..9 axle trailer

That is a tough question to answer since each states rules are different... In California we are allowed 60,000lbs on a 16tire group at 10' wide as well as a few other states so depending on the deck that is in the trailer the payload would range from 175k-180k Approximately. The biggest factor...

Wood Species Selection - Replacing Wood Decking (Apitong) on a Lowboy

We make it a point to have the decking be above the outside rails. We do not want the equipment driving on the trailer damaging the structural flanges of the trailer and would rather have the sacrificial lumber slightly higher. Over the years we have tried many different types of wood (Oak...

Lowboy axle spacing 54.5 vs 60 inch

Well this should be no problem to get.... I don't know why you were having problems getting it before. I thought you were talking about a 3 axle trailer not a 16 tire trailer.

    New design booster 9 axle

No it is all mechanical. As far as lift goes that means the goose neck will lift 20" as well as the front will also lift 19"

    New design booster 9 axle

With the laws in California and depending on the truck that is in front of it but with the truck pictured it would be able to haul about 171,000lbs legally in California with the 11' wide deck. If you put a beam deck in the trailer it would reduce your over all weight down and be able to haul...

    New design booster 9 axle

This trailer was just rolled out of the shop on November 26th and features and ultra low profile rear goose neck that at the highest point in the lowered position is 33" and has the ability to lift 20" in the rear along with hydraulic bump steering.

Lowboy axle spacing 54.5 vs 60 inch

Rereading my own post I guess I botched a few things and need to clarify a couple things because its confusing even to myself. California 3 axle requirements for running almost anywhere in the state. 48' max over all trailer length 40' kingpin to last axle (this can be accomplished with a...

Lowboy axle spacing 54.5 vs 60 inch

I notice you are located in Los Angeles....so if that is the case no matter the brand of trailer you end up with if you are going to be coming into California at all with the trailer make sure you do not buy one over 48' over all length or it will be almost unusable in this state. If you have...

Any input on good new first lowboy

A 2000 vintage trailer completely depending on condition would probably sell in the 55-60k range assuming it is a 21'6" or 22'10" deck. If it is a shorter deck it usually cuts into the value a little. New in 2000 they were give or take around that price before taxes so for a 12 year old...

Any input on good new first lowboy

Any reason you would not consider a mechanical style goose neck trailer? Overall they are simple to use, trailer is lighter and less things to worry about going wrong since you would never have to worry about hydraulics. I am not sure what your budget is but I have seen a good used 8 tire...

There was a news crew out there that morning as far as I know but I did not find out about this load until after it already happened otherwise I would have been there myself with a camera.

    heavy haul rig setup

Trying to operate in California is like trying to operate in a foreign country. Some things make perfect sense and simple and easy and others make you scratch your head and wonder what was going through the head of the person that came up with the regulation.

Here is one we hauled about a month ago in Rio Vista, CA. 21'6" deck with a 15' deck extension but obviously was not even close to enough deck for this load but it was only moving about a 1/2 mile. Weight of the load was about 43,000lbs and loaded height was about 27ft and 24ft wide
