    Excavator Rental Machines

I would stay away if I could. To many unknown operators and typically if a person doesn't own it they don't take care of it.

Need opinions from my central/west TX guys

If your dry density is 130lbs and you want say 10% moisture than you would need 13lbs of water per 130 lbs of material. 13lbs of water is equal to 1.56 gallons of water. The dry density weight is figured per cubic foot. 27 cubic feet per yard equals 42.12 gallons of water times how ever many...

    Slope Meter

"Water level". You have to stop for an accurate reading and it is in degrees. Haven't found one in slope form yet so you have to find a conversion for what you are doing and put it in degrees.

Need opinions from my central/west TX guys

When the geo tech comes out to take a sample have him set his gauge down and find out how much moisture is in the ground naturally. He should be able to tell you what optimum should be close to for that soil type. If you are required a min 95% compaction you can be a little shy on moisture. FYI...

Need opinions from my central/west TX guys

Scrapers might be quicker but at 3000 yards a day raising your moisture content by 4% you would need 45000 gallons a day. A 4000 gallon water truck would need to make 11.25 loads. The key to minimizing water needs is the quicker you can dig place and compact, the less moisture will be lost to...

    Laser Troubles???

Anyone getting close to it with a vibratory roller or maybe your dozer is shaking the ground when you get close. We had the same problem with or top con mm laser. Grade would start bouncing then the laser would just stop until the roller got far enough away. Also very windy days would shake the...

Forgot, two tips whatever you do to one side of the moldboard it will have the opposite effect on the other. And the other is tip the moldboard over as you get closer to grade. Full upright is for heavy cutting and rough grading. All the way over is for fine grading. I have seen lots of " blade...

    Cat 140H Pin puller Problem

I have been running one for ten years now and have never any practical use for any hole other than middle and two far outside holes. The outside holes are used for putting the blade vertical in order to grade vertical walls or cleaning the moldboard. The two holes to either side of center don't...

MULTIPLEX - Do you use them?

I have nothing to do with the milling operations at our company they come mill asphalt on our jobs when needed. Just thought I would post a video of someone using grade wheels since it seems to be the dated way of milling. From what I have seen the guys milling generally use hand signals for the...

Overall great looking machine. The only issue I see other than the roller is sprocket looks to be worn which will wear the pins faster.
