Hitachi 120-2, not the standard problem

Haven't pulled it apart yet to get at the ignition switch. First thing I did was jiggle the key back and forth because sometimes you get lucky. I'll start there. If I have to chase relays, .........shudder.

Hitachi 120-2, not the standard problem

When I turn the machine off the battery warning light comes on and the various other indicator lights (travel speed, mode, throttle setting) stay lit. Disconnecting the battery "resets" the system, when I reconnect the battery all the indicator lights are off. The machine restarts fine, shuts...

Komatsu S6D105 PC200-3 need head bolt torque pattern

Yup. Saw the numbers and started looking for the fine print. 18.5 ft/lbs won't hold much. The internet is great, I haven't had to use the CRC Handbook for twenty years.

Deere 550G right track lost power

I'm just packing up to be out of town for the week. I'm 98% sure it's 1989 model if that helps. Otherwise I'll be back on here Friday morning.

Deere 550G right track lost power

Was out doing some light pushing yesterday and the machine lost power to the right track. I could hold the left stick back and shift from forward to reverse and the right track was getting nothing. Never heard any pop, crunch, grind or bang. Backed out of the job to get to better ground and it...

    Hitachi EX120-2 or -3?

Thanks guys. Cab is grey, maybe I can get a picture later.

    Hitachi EX120-2 or -3?

Need to buy a wiring harness, but need to figure out for sure which machine I have. The plate riveted low on the side of the cab is gone. An operators manual for a -3 machine came with it, machine looks like the one pictured in the manual, always assumed it was a -3, but when I had to buy a...

Here's a sure way to kill your career

It's good to hear from you. A guy I work with has learned the same lesson on being truthful with bureaucracies, in his case especially workman's comp. They're out to screw you. You never found a cause for blacking out? Anyway, hang in there.

Komatsu PC200-3 changed hydraulic oil cooler

Thanks again. The big plug makes me nervous. It's probably just a plug, but we've all unscrewed things that look like a plug and turn out to have 15 springs and 87 check valves underneath. Sproing!

Komatsu PC200-3 changed hydraulic oil cooler

Thanks John. You're right, they are 1/8". Cracked one going to the valve and it oozed oil. Cracked the one on the return and heard air hiss out, but oil level in the tank is too low to have oil come out that plug (oil is in the window but machine isn't on level ground and return line is above...

Komatsu PC200-3 changed hydraulic oil cooler

Looked, nothing that looks like a brake bleeder. A lot of the fittings for hoses have the little square-head plugs though.

Komatsu PC200-3 changed hydraulic oil cooler

I'll take a look for that fitting. I know there's a plug on top of the pump, about 3/4npt size with hex on the outside and 1/2 square in the inside (looks like it has a shoulder, don't think it's actually pipe thread). There's also a return hose from the top of the pump back to the tank. The...

Komatsu PC200-3 changed hydraulic oil cooler

Just put a new hydraulic oil cooler on my machine, what do I have to do about bleeding the pump? Looking at it I don't really think draining the tank would have necessarily drained the pump, but don't want to take any chances. How would you go about bleeding the system, especially the pump?

    Opinions: 1996 Hitachi EX200LC-3

Those are great machines, except they have a strong tendency to develop electronic gremlins, and then they become horrible machines.

    Hitachi 120-2 lomp mode

Answered my question, I'll try making some gaskets to shim the plate out. Thanks.

    Hitachi 120-2 lomp mode

There was a thread a while back about operating in limp mode. The machine in that thread was operating fairly well in limp mode, but mine is extremely slow. Does anyone know how to make limp mode more aggressive? The pin that engages the swash plate is hex shaped, will have to pull the plate to...

    Hitachi EX150LC-5 or EX150-5

From what I know of the EX120, I'll say that your machine has two computers. One runs the hydraulics, the other controls the engine. Both are behind the seat. They should be available from ebay or alibaba, although your best first move is probably to scout around and find a mechtician who is...

    Cat 235 fuel consumption

I don't have an answer, except that it depends on if you run it at 70% or full throttle all the time.
