Compare Cat 287 to Bobcat T-300

This is kinda off the topic but in the vein of tracks though: I have a NH LS180 (soon to be traded for a NH LS185.B). I have light-weight steel alloy tracks on the LS180. I observed my buddy run my machine and noticed it might benefit by having some sort of "runner(s)" or "skid(s)" between...

    Insurance Costs

I had a similar conversation with a buddy who is very business-savy. His soution as a small business man is: Don't have anything in your name that a judge can award to someone else. His theory is the ins. co's have learned that over a certain amount of time you are statistically bound to have...

    over the tire tracks

TracksPlus offers a 30-day warranty so if you don't like them you can send them back. Not sure if they cover the freight cost though---doesn't hurt to ask. The guy on e-bay is a nice guy. The only drawback is he has them shipped from the TrackPlus factory and to deter him from doing that they...

    over the tire tracks

Hey, have you seen any stout rear bumpers in general or fenders for skid steers with tracks? I sometimes get into spots where I have to back into a tree (either accidentally or on purpose) or other obstacle and bang up the rear engine cover . The fenders New Holland sells just aren't wide enough...

    over the tire tracks

It's www.tracksplus.com . The owner tells me they are the largest US supplier of lawn quipment blades and have some 300 employees. The tracks they make are, like I said, a light-weight, heat-treated alloy steel. They're made of stamped weldments---no castings-- with solid steel bar links and...

    over the tire tracks

OTT tracks What's the chance the front tire is larger than the rear or vice-versa? I gotta think that if the front is larger for whatever reason--made that way or pressure isn't right, that would cause the track to bunch up in the middle which would tear up grass. Here's my theory: This depends...

New Holland LS185.B anyone tried yet?

The muffler, I didn't see, but the exhaust pipe is vertical and sticks up about 7-9" on the left side of the top engine cover as I recall.

New Holland LS185.B anyone tried yet?

My old NH L555 SS had the vertical muffler---and it rusted DOH!

New Holland LS185.B anyone tried yet?

LS185.B test drive Tested a new LS185.B yesterday. There is virtually no hydraulic pump noise (for the drive system) to hear. You can hear the hydraulic pump for the loader make a slight buzz when it lifts or lowers or using the bucket. The 2 speed option eases into and out of gear rather than...

    Compact Tractor

Tractors I do pretty much what you want to do. I have New Holland TC33D with Super Steer (worth the $1000 extra). 33Hp diesel. The "D" stand for deluxe: Suspended seat, cruise control, locking rear differential, front and rear PTO's, power steering, 3-range hydro-stat trans, and...

Ideas on convincing dealerships to save end user money

Roughly how much do the new grouser bars cost for a 450 inc. shipping for an end-user?

New Holland LS185.B anyone tried yet?

BOBCAT--You are correct. Man, I can't understand why these Dealer Reps can't get their facts straight. The dealer salesman ddi say that they were offering rubber tracks but made it sound like they were add-ons from Loegering.

New Holland LS185.B anyone tried yet?

My dealer asked me if I wanted to trade up to a LS185.B from my LS180 . Has anyone actually driven or used one? The District Sales Rep for NH says that electronic pilot controls are suppose to be out mid-summer 2005 and rubber tracks not for another year early 2006.

    SS door replacement

I bought a new, entire cab enclosure off e-bay for the price of a door. There have been a lot of bobact cab parts lately--doors especially. They go for around $200 and up.

    Two-Speed Option Skid Steer

I have a two-speed New Holland LS180. Love it. It can almost double cycle times, not good if you are charging by the hour LOL. My owner's manual says that the two-speed is for transporting a load not for working/digging/pushing. The engine and hydraulic system have to work much too hard in 2nd...

    10" vs. 12" tires

My buddy with a New Holland LS170 (came with 10") put the same 12" tires I have on my much larger LS180. The problem he has is the 12" tires stick out past the bucket edge. And since they are about 2-1/2" taller, his bucket doesn't sit flat to the ground by 1-1/4" at the heel. Since I put steel...

Help me pick a skid steer?

A skid steer backhoe will not have enough reach to clean a pond--after it is all said and done, by the time you reach out and down, you will be lucky to get 4-6 feet out. A mini excavator will have same problem. I tried a 10,000 lb. class Cat and gave about the same results. A full size...

Engine oil in New Holland skid steers

Did you notice that the same 10W-30 engine oil is used for the hydraulic system? Of all the equipment I own, no other uses engine oil for hydraulic fluid.
