    Steering with 20k front axle.

My tire guy says there is a narrower setup that you can get 18k on the front and steers/handles normal. Some of the newer heavy hauls have them. They would not work on my wide rims.

    Steering with 20k front axle.

It's actually 22k front, but CA only gives you 20k.

    Steering with 20k front axle.

I have a 10 wheeler with 20k front axle and it has the same turning radius as the titanic. Do all tractors with 20k front axle steer this bad?

Any input on good new first lowboy

Looks like murray won out. Picked up a 1990 murray 16 tire. Fresh paint and completely gone through. Now I have to fab some lowboy ramps.....

Change air ride to raise truck?

Good info mitch504. I'm thinking along the same lines, just want to do it from the cab.

Change air ride to raise truck?

Seems pretty easy, you can get linear actuators for $100 that are 1" diameter in any stroke you need. I've held off getting a rgn because I couldn't figure how to get into my storage yard. Was thinking hydraulic detach so I could lift going in... I'm going to check out how much higher the air...

Change air ride to raise truck?

Thinking the easiest way would be a 12v linear actuator in place of the rod that goes from axle to air valve, basically tricking the air suspension into thinking it was too low and adding air. Surprised no one has done this. I know you can ruin the bags if you transport with them too high, but...

Change air ride to raise truck?

Looking to get a rgn trailer and concerned about the driveway at my yard. Anyone changed the air switch on an 8 bag suspension to raise the truck 3"-4" just to get over potential hang-ups? Not sure how you could replumb the dump valve, but a 3 way would be nice (dump, ride height, increased...

Any input on good new first lowboy

Chaz, If you are still following this thread; how do guys with mech detach deal with uneven terrain? I have no heavy haul experience, but have 10 years experience driving equipment trailers with 36" deck height. Seems impossible to not get hung up all the time and scrape the heck out of the...

Any input on good new first lowboy

I was originally thinking 16 tire expando in case I get any bigger equipment. Those trailers (yours or cozad) are just so darn expensive. Two 2000 murray 16 tires going at rb sacramento next tuesday. That's a 12 year old trailer that may or may not need tires/brakes/etc. that will sell for over...

    50T Kaufman??

How is the kaufman working out for you? I'm in the same boat you were about used versus new lowboy prices.

Any input on good new first lowboy

Need a 35t+ lowboy. Will probably never haul over 80k due to CA laws, thinking of a hydraulic detach like trailking hdg70. Used lowboy prices are ridiculously high. Pretty sure the 25 year old trailers are going at auction for what they sold for new. Any thoughts about Kaufmann? Witzco? Better...

Any ideas in shipping 10 wheeler from new orleans to sf bay area?

I'll ask my dmv about that one. I drove the truck from FL to LA with a california temporary permit. First inspection station in FL; I was told that 'CA permit don't mean shti out here'. Trip went down hill from there........

Any ideas in shipping 10 wheeler from new orleans to sf bay area?

No extra legal permits needed, but needs lowboy due to height. Most uship quotes involve driving it, which is a pain due to not having the permits and questionable if it would pass a DOT inspection and I don't enjoy a redtag at 3:00am at some inspection station in middle of nowhere.....

    Opinions on Best Graders

Too new to start a new thread, but anyone have input on best compact grader? Thinking fiat allis 65c or champion c80 to finish off building pads. Site is too tight for a 140 sized blade, but too big to finish with a skip loader. Would be my first blade.....

    heavy haul rig setup

Thanks for the replies. Another newbie question. How do the ngb trailers spread? Have 10 years exp hauling my own equipment (nothing larger than 200 class excavator), just new to the ngb lowboys. Biggest I expect to haul would be 623 scraper or D8r. Tia
