    michigan 75b loader de-clutch

My machine had hydraulic brakes and there was a slave cylinder in the trans that would do the declutching. I pulled the line and plugged the port at the master cylinder. Loading trucks the declutch was useless as it was natural to pull the machine into neutral after reaching the truck. The only...

Cat 12E motor grader for sale

1960, that we've owned for many years. Electric start with new batteries. Engine starts and runs very well. Has new coolant but other fluids need to be serviced. All machine functions work. Has brake fluid leak. Hand brake works well. Used for snow removal so there is some rusty sheet metal. I...

    Michigan 75A no forward travel

I've done it in the machine several times on ours. Not that hard. Usually if it works in reverse and not forward, it's the reverse clutch that's bad. pieces in between the plates. Been my experience anyway.

    michigan 75a wheel loader

Does the machine stop moving or are you saying the engine stalls? If pulling it backwards gets it working again, I would really suspect the transmission clutches. I can't see pulling it affecting pressures in any way. The covers and clutches can be removed without pulling the transmission. Done...

Why do Demo bids vary in price so much?

All the reasons people have said but also my personal experience. The last time (a while ago now) I bid a demo my bid was $25,000.00. I was underbid by $15,000.00. How is this possible? Well they didn't haul to an approved landfill, They took the material to an old quarry that they owned. No way...

    CAT Converted to skid steer

I believe these were originally intended for railroad use to move cars around a yard. Much cheaper than any engine.

    Fitting type

Unfortunately a lot mismatches will screw together and people do it. We had a minor drip on a track loader for years and never found it until we pulled the trans. A mechanic had used a 45° fitting and screwed it to a 37°.

What to look for when buying a Komatsu PC150

We tried pretty hard with a pump. Made up a high pressure adapter and ran the pump up to 10,000 lbs (pretty much the safe limit). Jacked the track up and did a lot of pulling and banging and swearing over a three day period. The gauge never dropped a pound in three days and the adjuster never...

    Sterling Eng lite on

On ours (2000 model) it is under the dash close to the left side of the cab. By the drivers left knee in the U. S. With a right side cluster in New Zealand might be somewhere else? It is a round plug with a dust cap. I was told that if you have cruise control you flash some of the codes like in...

    78 Ford L9000 w 6V92 ( Been Sitting )

On our old 92 it was just a liner seal. Old truck so we just re sealed the one and took a chance. Not a very big job. Truck ran fine until the driver saw a big oil leak from the air compressor and decided to drive it another 10 miles. The reason we only changed one is odd as normally would...

I think they called that color flambeau orange. They were great machines.

Old Allis HD7G (Fat Allis), still working and being worked

We ran a 7G for many years, in excess of 40,000 hours. The last overhaul, the crankshaft was still stock on the mains and only 10 under on rod journals. And we ran it 17,000 hours after that. I still have some reman rollers I should have scrapped years ago, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

    ford dump

:rolleyes:Ugh. I had almost forgotten. It's just a tube with orings at each end. I vaguely remember the tube being plastic. There is ridge on the tube that you put your special tool against to remove it. There is no easy way to fix this and you have my sympathy.

Ford 550 Diesel won't start when warm...

It seems whenever I crack a line (for bleeding) I get a pretty good spray, definitely more than drops.

    fuel tank cap

The threads on a lot of the tanks are like (or actually are) pipe threads. I just ordered a cap for an IH that is listed as a 2" but measures 2 5\16". I ordered a Velvac brand and their catalog descriptions show both nominal and actual measurement along with thread pitch. I ordered one from Ebay...

    1830 coil not sparking

So either the rotor is shorting to the distributor shaft (had this happen on a Chevy) or the terminal on top of the rotor is not making contact with center of distributor cap. I don't remember how the cap is made. Is the center terminal spring loaded? Could also be the rotor going down too far...
