    Hitachi EX135UR-5 won't throttle up

Oh, sorry, that was a different issue, with my other EX-60. That said, I tried to buy a rebuilt from Napa, which was about $160 (instead of $750 from Deere). It came without the pigtail bullet connector. That connector has something to do with the shutdown process (slow discharge, rather than...

    Hitachi EX135UR-5 won't throttle up

Mine ended up being a clogged screen, inside the banjo fitting, at the end of the fuel line from the tank, where it plugs in to the transfer pump. I had to take cover off the bottom of the machine (sitting down between tracks, and looking up). The rubber fuel line slips onto a hose clamp fitting...

    Hitachi ex100-3 computer problem

I'm not sure about Chinese being a good, or bad, thing, but when on eBay, I look at the seller ratings. Both numbers matter; rating, and number of raters. I got a motherboard for a laptop from China, for $100 one time, that got the laptop running again. Good luck!

    Hitachi EX 100-3 fuel Issue

You nailed it! Thanks for knowing what to look for!

    Hitachi EX 100-3 fuel Issue

So, I was a bit too optimistic with my earlier post. The machine ran good for a couple of hours, then back in the crapper. I called the service department and the guy said maybe it was an air-leak, so suction might be affected. I decided to try to change the fuel line, so I dropped the cover...

    Hitachi EX 100-3 fuel Issue

I just got one of my EX 60's home after the same type of symptoms. I did same, replaced fuel filter, and added some JB Fuel additive (the type you'd use in winter for antigel), and that helped for a while. Mine would throttle up, but when it took the load, it would run real bad. I had to move...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

I forgot to clarify, one of the terminals is marked with +, the other a -. I think the - goes through the battery cutout relay, and then is grounded on the back side of that.

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

I agree, that they have made things more difficult than necessary. The machine has been good to me over the years (so much so, that I bought another one, just in case). Electrical, though has been the shortfall! I've decided to leave it to the pros, and send to old alternator (and maybe $100...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

I've been out working, so thanks for getting back to this. I haven't installed the replacement alternator yet, so no answer to the charging question. The "T" plug only has 2 wires to it, one hot, and the other goes to ground, it looks like. The wire that is still on the old alternator...

    Hitachi EX135UR-5 won't throttle up

member "excavator" referred me to "Tradebits" www.tradebits.com where I dl'd a manual for my Hitachi EX 60, this morning. I'd make the same referral. Without the manual, I'd be checking my battery voltage. The ECU needs proper voltage to tell the machine what to do. I had similar problem with...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

As I noted in previous comment, regarding bypassing Starter Protection Controller, I'm OK with fudging, if it's easier, or less expensive. I am the only operator, so a switched wire, or some such, would be just fine. Rest easy, and I'll look forward to hearing from you, tomorrow. Cheers!

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

Yes, they were all connected at time of removal. The wire with bullet seems to have something to do with the load dump, which I understand to buffer "slamming off the power", for anything using voltage when shutting down. Of course I went out last night after dinner to R + R alternator, and it...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

007, you mentioned disassembling alternator, and looking inside. I did remove 4 long screws from outside of the case, but it didn't want to pull apart. Do I need to remove pulley, and then case halves can split, over shaft? I've always just R + R'd starters, alternators, etc., so not familiar...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

So I just dl'd a service manual from Tradebit, on referral from "excavator" and took a couple of screen shots of electrical. Good referral, BTW. On the "Start Circuit", I'm pretty sure that "L to alternator" is the wire I'm missing. Note references deenergizing after start.

    Hitachi technical manual

Thanks for Tradebit referral. I dl'd manual for my Hitachi EX 60 and it looks like a valuable reference. $19.98 for the manual.

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

I am referencing this one, which I got with the machine, from the previous owner, which he got from Nortrax (local dealer).

    Information on basement dig

I'm in agreement with previous comments. I'm in northeastern Minnesota, so pretty much straight across from Fargo. We've been digging 5' 8" to 6' to bottom of footing, depending on concrete guy (8" or 12" is their preference). 5' walls in the ground is typical. Waterlines up here are 6'...

    excavator telescopic boom

I agree with the previous comments. They are a versatile tool, but nothing comes without a cost. I've used for septic work, finishing mound systems (above grade piles of sand, rock and topsoil cover), and it's a nice substitute for a dozer for that, as the blade moves, without track damage...

Hitachi EX-60 issues - not charging

Here are pic's. The red on the new alternator was from my sharpie, for reference. The hole to the left of the "T" spade receptacle (bottom of alternator, in picture) is where the wire with the bullet connector comes out of the old alternator.
