    Cat to the Mat

Does ASV have the same trouble with tracks coming off or is it just Cat's that throw fits. Seems like ASV made their name in tough terrain.

    Excavator in a bad way

Being the owner/boss of my company I agree with the make him wash it, since he won't taste the pain of the repair bill. Ideally he should offer to do that part if he truly cares about his job and wants to say sorry. Actions speak louder than words.

    New Holland L170

Never ran a yanmar. How are they? What's your selling point with them? Sorry for the misspell of your name above. Stupid spell check automatically thinks it knows what your typing and changes accordingly.:bash

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

No problem man. I would love to be able to tell you how but I just picked mine up 2 weeks ago and am learning as I go. Other than absolutely loving running an excavator and having the work to keep it busy I am a noob when it comes knowing how to do anything other than your standard maintenance...

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

Hey I finally had some free time to unscrew the inlet line on the fuel filter and it didn't have any debris inside, it looked as though it should. Any other thoughts? Also on my digital gauge for the throttle it goes all the way to 10, but 8 and up are all the same rpm. Is my throttle off or is...

    napa and gray market machine

Could of been the salesmen was just going off of what was told to him about it, In any instance nothing worse than a salesman trying to pull the wool over your eyes just to make a sale. I would rather buy a piece of junk that someone was upfront and honest about it than a piece of junk that...

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

I will check those tomorrow, Thanks Eriksson. Tonight I unscrewed the bolt on top of the fuel filter and turned the engine over to purge any air out and still had the same results. Oddly enough, If i turned the engine over for just a second (kinda just bumped the ignition) then paused and...

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

I've got another question related to the 312. The machine has 5000 hrs and the engine turns over quite a few times before firing. If I turn the throttle up it will fire a little faster. Could there be an air bubble in the fuel line to cause this delay? It will do this on initial startup and...

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

Alright thanks:D, I changed the in tank filter and heard the pressure release when I cracked that open. I guess I will just pull harder on the inline one. Not knowing a whole lot about this machine I just wanted to be safe rather than sorry. It was a noob question for sure:confused:

    Cat 312 hydraulic filter help

I changed all the fluids in my 93 312 that I just picked up but can't get the inline hydraulic filter off. I noticed that there was a sticker nearby that said to releive the pressure of the system by moving the neutral lever and working the joysticks. Can anybody tell me what it's talking about...

    Tracks on Snow

That polar tread looks neat but I don't plow enough to justify a second set of tracks

    New Holland L170

I guess it would depend on the work you were going to to with it. But I am with yammerman, I love my New Hollands they are great machines.

    Tracks on Snow

I too plow snow with my track machine and incur the same problem. Love it when I slide down hills out of control lol. I have thought about studding mine but didn't know if it would damage the tracks. I would do it in a heartbeat if I could take them out and know that it didn't produce long term...

Who builds the best Skid Steer and Why

I was close to getting an ASV before I chose new holland. I was interested in the SR 80 but I didn't like how the fuel tank wrapped around the outside and into the front. Being a fence builder I was concerned with piercing the tank with a T post or brush. Otherwise I think they an awesome...

Who builds the best Skid Steer and Why

That makes sense. They share a lot of the same styles with tracks and frame build it seems

Who builds the best Skid Steer and Why

Not that I'm aware of, I know case and new holland are tied together but haven't heard anything about Takeuchi, got me interested on that I will have to look.

Who builds the best Skid Steer and Why

Well the tracks that cat used were engineered for ASV. ASV built their whole skid steer around the tracks balancing the weight evenly. Cat just pulled the tires off and slapped on tracks it's not surprising it would have problems
