Looks so naked!!! Removed hoe, and adding 3ph/pto....

It is not that bad, takes an hour or so if everything works as it should. My mod-hitch has had some work on the spool assembly, so it does not have power down on the arms as it should. This means I have to lift the hitch off with a hoist/lift, etc. That adds to the time to change. If it did...

Looks so naked!!! Removed hoe, and adding 3ph/pto....

I have one for my 580B. They can be found, but be prepared to pay for it and go get it as they are heavy. I live near St. Louis and last year found the 'mod hitch' as they call them in GA, two hours south of Atlanta. If a dealer has one they ask about $1200 for the complete hitch. I didn't...

Wray, I have had the mod hitch mounted all summer with a box blade on. I was going to do it this last week as I was off for a while, but it was hot!! I'll probably do this fall sometime. I just spent two weekends replacing the loader bucket edge, didn't feel like welding this weekend...

    67' 580CK cylinder leak questons+

Many of the older Case units the glands are not stamped, but have a 'identifying ring' cut in the end of the gland. Almost all of the cylinders on my 580B are like this. They are two piece pistons and can be looked up in the parts books. Dave

Case 580 CK power shuttle cooler failed, replace?

Claypot, Tinkerer, On the 580B power shuttle, which I believe is almost identical to the shuttle on the 580CK, the convertor pump pressure relief test is done at the filter housing which in the circuit with the cooler in the radiator. That pump pressure can be as high as 550 psi on the pump...

Looking at first backhoe - Case 580B CK

vlus, I downloaded the pic of your pedals, and blew it up in photoshop, looks like you have a manual shuttle unit. It looks like there are two shafts protruding from the cover in from of your stick shift. One has a lever that should be connected to the forward / reverse selector, the other...

Looking at first backhoe - Case 580B CK

vlus, Take a picture of the of the linkage that connects to the clutch pedal, and the lever in front of the gear shift. You may have a manual shuttle... If so you can disregard most of my prior post, I didn't see a range lever so I thought power shuttle. Hey, wouldn't be the first time I...

Looking at first backhoe - Case 580B CK

vlus, One last thing I forgot, the plate in the in that last pic is the loader serial plate. The tractors serial plate should be on right side of the steering column support as you are sitting in the seat. It is often missing.... There are separate serial plates for the tractor, loader...

Looking at first backhoe - Case 580B CK

vlus, Yes, you have the power shuttle. The two pedals to the right are brakes, individual for right and left... There should be a tie bar that also activates the brakes from the clutch pedal, so when loading a truck you can stop forward movement and keep the engine revs up to help raise the...

Looking at first backhoe - Case 580B CK

vlus, I cannot determine if you found your answer, but here is some info to help. THere are three clutch systems available on the 580B they are as follows and how to identify... 1: Most popular - power shuttle: a torque convertor system connected to a forward / reverse hydraulic clutch...

    Roughest 580ck ain't moving!

Pack, just to throw what I was thinking this morning, TD-5s post confirmed it. The latest control valve for the 580CK, #A38434 is also the valve used on the 580B. I know the base tractors are very close, I wonder if you could use valve body and all from a 'B' to get neutral?? There is a...

what size trailer for a new holland 555e 2x4 exstenda hoe

I have said it before and don't want to start anything, but we pulled Case 580C's and D's with 3/4 and one ton trucks back in the day all the time, plumbing trucks with pintle hitches. Never had an issue, just need to know what you were doing... Way too many nanny rules and not enough sense...

    Roughest 580ck ain't moving!

Pack, my friend... I thought maybe, just maybe, since the shuttle on the original CK and the B are so much similar that I could find something in my original service manual. But no, mine shows a single spring as well. Are you sure someone hasn't been trying to pump the pressure up some with a...

    Spun Cam Bearing Case 580

CasIns, No boring the block, it is a wet sleeve engine. If you pulled the pan can you see the cam bosses? Are the bearings visible? The front cam bearing is the only one that is pressure fed on the 188, the back three are 'drip oiled', so the oil pressure will not be affected by back...

Trick to remounting Backhoe on Case 530CK

I get as straight as I can, but have to hook up the hydraulics to lift the hoe base and tilt it back to get hooked on the bottom. I use the out riggers and stick to get on and the pins in the top. Just be sure to have the engine off to plug the hoses in and DO NOT run the engine while they are...
