    Lock-nut on cyl. rod

    I still use my impact on applications like yours. You can loosen it a little at a time and/or reduce your air pressure to around 30 to 50 P.S.I. That should reduce the friction heat enough to prevent gaulding.

    You are soooo right! I was shocked at the difference in fuel consumption between my 773 and the T-870. I can run my 773 pretty hard for 8 to 10 hours on 5 gallons. I havent operated the cutter for a full day yet so Im pretty scared to find out just how much It will use!

    Im learning ! I dont doubt you one bit. I always try to be a half glass full kind of thinker and alot of times it gets me in to deep. I have a friend that has a small loader ( a little bigger than the 870 ) that needs some repairs but we may park it on my hill just for loading trucks out.

    M Series Bobcats

    Ive got 90 hours on my 2011 Bobcat T-870 and I love it more every hour. Unless I have the forestry cutter hooked up it will dig and/or push at not much more than an idle.

    Skid steer pulling trailer

    I can't think of any reason pulling a trailer should be a problem. I would however, consider loading the front of the machine with a bucket of dirt or some sort of counter weight to keep the front end down.
