Why haven't you purchased an ORV yet?

I was looking at a new crew cab Ranger the other day, $22,000. I can buy 4 or 5 90's Toyotas or Nissans and beat on them for a long time for the same price.

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

I can't explain it any simpler and it's giving me a headache trying. Read this http://pacbrake.com/mopar-max-magazine-article-on-the-p-67-loadleash-engine-brake/ If you still don't get it, go ahead and tell all your buddies you have a Billy big rigger jake brake in your dodge and be happy about it.

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

No, it wont. It's holding the exhaust valves open for the entire compression stroke so no energy is wasted compressing, it's basically like opening the unloader valve on an air compressor. You don't get any gain from the return energy but you don't lose any energy on the compression stroke...

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

I'm not fighting, I'm attempting to explain how they work but apparently I'm failing. Information directly from jacobs: A jake bleeds off compression at the top of the compression stroke to steal the return energy out of the cylinder. The load leash description is much longer but it holds...

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

It isn't the exact same principle, a Jacobs brake releases compression at near tdc and releases any return energy out of the cylinder. The load leash opens the exhaust valves to let more air hit the pac brake to create more back pressure. You do understand that paccar (peterbilt/kenworth)...

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

There's a pac brake setup that holds the exhaust valves open but it doesn't work like a real Jacobs brake, it needs to have a regular pac brake in the exhaust to work. Also, I don't think I'd use the isx as an example of how great cummins engines are, I haven't seen very many make it out of...

    Anyone ever heard of this?

I bet that was a loud bang.

    New Operator Looking for Advice

X2. You have to try pretty hard to be unemployed with a valid cdl and clean driving record. Being able to run the equipment that you haul just makes you that much more useful. Even if you could just be trusted to load and unload equipment without a babysitter you'd be ahead of a good portion of...

    Fontaine lowbed no parking brakes

That's pretty strange, if it's new enough to have abs it should have spring brakes. Is there any extra plumbing like somebody pulled the spring brake cans?

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

Yeah, deep trenches all the way up.

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

A couple months ago a guy made it almost to the top of the bottom run away ramp, I can't believe he made the corner.

Oh, ok. I see them all the time.

    What trucks are those?

Unique sound of a direct drive working.

I have a 17a and I was using it to pile trees, after 8 or 9 hours I could hardly even pick my arms up. I bought a 10k last year and I think it about doubled my cycle times lol

Unique sound of a direct drive working.

I always called it the reverser.

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

I hear both sides with the 6.7 ford, some guys have had great luck and some have had nothing but problems. I know a guy with around 250,000 mi on one with zero issues whatsoever, but a buddy of mine is a road mechanic for Halliburton and he just drops his off at the Ford dealer at the end of his...

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

It doesn't take much of a tuner to get that and they'll usually pick some mileage up too

Ford vs. a Dodge...... (Gooseneck Tow Vehicle)

The dodge death wobble is usually a loose track bar and other wore out stuff. I've never been a fan of those front ends, way too many moving parts. The newer ones use a trailing arm setup like the 06+ fords.

    Anyone own Witzco?

Witzco frames aren't heat treated like the big name trailers, if they bow they stay that way.

    That's 4 or 5 miles I think
