    Case 580K fanbelt change

I took off the grill and loosened the pump and pulled it forward a bit with the lines still attached. I think i used an allen wrench to locate the holes to line things up again. Be sure and check to see if the belt fits before you put things back together. I did not and my belt is too large...

    Case 580K Hyd tank leak.

I have brazed a gas tank on a car. I drained it and blew it out with compressed air. I then hooked it up to an exhaust pipe for about 15 minutes. I brazed it then with the exhaust still filling the tank. It worked fine.

    Case 580K Hyd tank leak.

I cleaned the holes with a pressure washer and welded them. I still had a seep that made a few drips a day. I took a can of spray on rubber and covered the welds where the oil was, after cleaning it again of course. A couple layers of the rubber sealed the leak. I used the kind they...

Does "Steel Seal" work? What are some other simple choices for cracked head?

I see a bunch of adds for Steel Seal and was looking for something cheaper. I know that Water Glass works on gas engines and expect that it would work on high compression diesel. I have a couple 6.2 GM diesel heads with cracks and an old 409. I would weld them up before I paid $80 for chemicals.

    Case 580K Hyd tank leak.

Epoxy rapair of pinhole in weld? I have two pin holes in the hydraulic tank of my Case 580. One is in the very bottom on the left side. The other is higher up. Since there is no pressure to speak of epoxy would hold but surface prep to get rid of the oil would be hard. There used to be a...

    Case 580K fanbelt change

I took my fanbelt off my Case 580B and got a couple tips. If your fanbelt is loose you can't easily keep the engine form turning. I took an old file and stuck the tang between the pulley and the hydraulic hub to break loose the bolts. About half a trun and the bolts came out with my fingers...

    Backhoe Log Splitter Attachment

I saw the quick disconnect fittings for the backhoe on my 1972 580 b ck so I figured that would be a high volume connection. I have a splitter with at least a 6" cylinder that high volume would be needed. I think that that it might be a low pressure cylinder so I have to be careful.

Repair of transfer drive os old Adams modle 512 Grader.

The grader set at the bottom of my hill for years because the oil level of the transfer drive ran out of oil and burned up the bearings. I got new bearings and I am trying to figure out how to set the preload on the bearings to put the beast back together. The transfer drive is the part that...

    Case 580B questions

I am on probation also. I was wondering if I have to drain the tranny to replace the brade seals? Got my 72 Case 580B CK hoe home. I am glad that the former owner did not keep the oil rights. It has 8 leaking cylinders. The engine is clean which is a good sign.

580CK Heating Pads / Transmission Slow to move...

OK so first this is in the worng place but it is my first post so I am quite limited. The Brakes are almost out on my 580 b backhoe. I went through about 25 pages of backhoes yesterday and found out much. I tried search this morning but did not do it right as it gave me everything but 580...
